Sorry for the late reply.
Chunkyfrog thanks for the great tip! I will definitely give that a try! And yeah, I'm OK with inches as well

Recommendations on chinstraps?
Hello everyone I have been using my machine for a couple months now and feel I am adapting to it quite well. I have however been experiencing mouth leaks ( I use a nasal mask). I have just tried raising the humidity level to see if this can unclog my nasal passages, thus perhaps avoiding having my m...

Re: Occasional mouth breathing while using a nasal mask
Thanks everybody for the very helpful replies! You guys are awesome and I'm so glad I am not alone and found this board! I will definitely try the tongue trick starting tonight! Thanks for the details. I think last night wasn't so bad and don't recall waking up at all. I will also look into perhaps ...

Re: Occasional mouth breathing while using a nasal mask
Thanks for the thoughtful replies! So I just got back from the drugstore and got a nasal mist, hoping it will do something. I still do not want to go with the full face mask yet, not if I can help it. I would like to exhaust all my options before going that route. Might eventually try the chinstrap ...

Occasional mouth breathing while using a nasal mask
Hello everyone! So I have been using CPAP for a week now and for the most part things are going rather smoothly and find that I am able to adjust to this new situation. However sometimes I find myself being awakened by this loud noise only to then realize that this is due to my mouth being opened. W...

Re: Info reading seems wrong + strap marks
Thanks chunkyfrog. I also took your advice to try the Breathe Right strips ( that was you, right?). They seem to work pretty well!

Re: Info reading seems wrong + strap marks
Hey Julie! Thanks that makes me feel better! I'm glad my machine is not off then! But does that also mean the reading for AHI is only based on that hour or did it take the whole sleep time into consideration? I will look into the pas a cheek thing ! Again thanks for the very prompt reply! Christian

Info reading seems wrong + strap marks
Hello! This is a two part post. Wondering if I should have posted twice but I wanted to save space/time. 1) Last night was my second night using CPAP and things went reasonably well I think. I did notice however some snoring on my part and the air noise it made ( I wear a nasal mask) woke me up so e...

Re: First full night using CPAP
Thanks TerBear and congrats to you too! I really hope my future adjustments will be minor and my therapy successful. I really need this to work, as do all of us.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed, and again, thanks for the encouragement

First full night using CPAP
Hello everyone, I just wanted to let you know of my first night using CPAP. In general things went pretty smoothly!I literally felt my heart beating at first since I was really nervous doing this for the first time at home! I did have some minor problems of waking up and missing air and wanting to b...

Re: Choosing a nasal mask
Thanks all for the helpful replies! Good idea trying them lying down thanks. And Nightowl, the mask I used at the study was a regular nasal mask (do not know which though). It worked fine for the test (ie no leaks that I know of etc) but left a mark on my face however. So yes you are all right in sa...

Choosing a nasal mask
Hello everyone! I rescheduled my appointment with my DME for next week and this will be my first time using a CPAP. My prescription is for a nasal mask and I am presently in the process of checking out all the different ones on the net to check my options. Now I fully realize that this is subjective...

Re: Newbie: Resmed S9 Elite vs s9 autoset
Yes thanks avi. You are right and I believe my fears were unfounded. I simply have OSA. I just need to now talk to the Doctor to get a prescription for an auto. He only will be back on September 11th, by which point I will already have the Elite. However, luckily the supplier will be willing to exch...

Re: Newbie: Resmed S9 Elite vs s9 autoset
Forgot to mention avi that I take RX as well..my A1C varies between 5 and 9, closer to 5. Much better that 19.9 before my diagnosis! I eat a whole lot better and have lost weight and feel a whole lot better! Almost to the point where I thought I no longer needed CPAP as my sleep improved a whole lot...
