Occasionally Feel Like a Door Suddenly Is Slammed Shut
I have been using my CPAP successfully for almost ten years now, with a low setting of 7, and AHI averaging well below 5 almost all nights. But recently I have had an odd experience when exhaling, as if a door has suddenly been slammed shut (or a tube collapsing). This seems to occur once about five...

Re: [Poll] and Seeking advice on Swift FX and AirFit P10
I've used both Swift FX & the Air Fit P10 headgear with nasal pillows and want to say that to my mind the Air Fit P10's headgear is very poorly designed (not the pillows, which are fine). To begin with, the Air Fit P10 is NOT adjustable, so One Size Fits All. But it doesn't. Also, the neoprene loses...

Re: Sleep Position Trainer, manufactured by Nightbalance.
This doesn't tell us much-- esp. since the results of the Clinical Trial are not posted-- but it does appear that the Night Balance was submitted for review in Europe. It does not currently appear to be available in the US. https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT02114424 For what it is worth, there ...

Daylight Savings Time & Sleepyhead 2016
Just took a look at my numbers this morning and thought my AHI was a little higher than expected, since I thought I slept well. However, after looking at my Events via the Daily tab, I realized that for some reason Sleepyhead double counted several of them, those between 3:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m, roug...

Re: Nasal Pillow Thoughts
Just curious, in all of your extensive research, have you also ventured into the world of CPAP Pillows, esp. their utility for those who wear Nasal Pillows? Recently my leaks have gone up some, and I'm wondering if it is worth he $60 or so for a CPAP pillow.

Re: Odd Gaps in Session Information
Well, it seems my machine was misbehaving. So it has been replaced, and by tomorrow morning, I should have better compliance data.

Odd Gaps in Session Information
For the past three nights, there have been some odd, sometimes large gaps in my Sleepyhead Session Information (from the Daily Tab, shown as Session Information in the left hand column. E.G. ResMed Session #14536049404 22:08:55 22:54:55 00h 46 m 00s; and so on, many 10 minutes or under, with gaps in...

Leaks with APAP vs CPAP
I have been using a Res Med Elite S9 with Swift Nasal Pillows for about four years (with an earlier Res Med CPAP before that for perhaps four more years). Pressure at 7. Over the summer, my numbers were terrific, some times with no events at all during the night and an AHI average of .87 for the las...

Re: gabapentin and sleep apnea
Was on Gabapentin for about four months. CPAP numbers were fine-- but it gave me a horrible hangover and really tired me out, so I begged my doctor to come up with an alternative. Your experience may differ.

Re: Night time urination / apnea issues
In many instances, "night time urination" falls under the medical term of NOCTURIA. It is often a symptom of sleep apnea-- one that physicians are now becoming more aware of. However, a CPAP is not necessarily a cure for all types of nocturia which can be related to other sleep issues, including ins...

Re: What's Wrong With This Picture? Sleepyhead Graph
I know that's what it looks like, but I promise you that I restarted the CPAP each time, and even checked to see that air was flowing as I put my pillows back on.
I'll try rebooting-- although I actually did that last night before firing up the machine.

What's Wrong With This Picture? Sleepyhead Graph
I have been using a CPAP for several years now and recently upgraded from the ResMed S8 to the ResMed S9 Elite, which allows me to see data about my sleep. For the most part, my numbers are very good: Pressure = 6 Avg AHI > 1.0 Avg Leaks > 1.5 (and that includes when I wasn't turning off CPAP when g...

Adjusting Sleepyhead Event Preferences???
In Sleepyhead, one can go to the top menu: Sleepyhead >> Preferences and then from the Import tab see a sliding bar scale for Session Settings. This permits you to adjust "Combine Close Sessions" and "Ignore Short Sessions" anywhere from zero minutes to an hour. What sort of time should these be set...

Sleepyhead "bars" Red vs Green?
In the Daily Graphs mode of Sleepyhead, down at the bottom right there are little two colored bars, with one color green (or red) and the other black.
What do these indicate?
Thanx.
