Re: Diagnosed then undiagnosed?
Yes I am in a HMO. Its insurance through my job. The problem is the therapy hasn't really helped me which is why I had so many titration studies. It stinks that I have invested all of this time and money into this to feel better and low and behold I apparently never had OSA or any Apnea at all. Im s...

Re: Diagnosed then undiagnosed?
I meet with the Pulminologist on Monday. When I was refferred to him, I took all of the results from my first 3 studies and showed him. He looked at all of them laughed and said that they should have never diagnosed me with sleep apnea based on the data that they had for one main reason. I had no sl...

Re: Diagnosed then undiagnosed?
That is a very good idea Todzo thanks. I have a family member that has a blood presure cuff so I will borrow it. Im not sure about the testing procedures and how they differ at the different places. What I do know is the pulmunologist had nothing nice to say about the first place I went to calling t...

Diagnosed then undiagnosed?
Im at a loss for words at the moment and I hope someone has been in this position and can help. 3 years ago I was diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea and was put on a BiPAP machine. I was very excited because I had hoped that this was the end of daytime sleepiness once and for all. Not only that ...

Respironics Results
So this is my first time trying this. Was wondering if anyone was familiar with the Respironics BiPAP ST and these readings? The first set was taken on Monday night with my Resmed Mirage Liberty mask which I had a hard time keeping sealed. The second set was taken last night with my new WISP mask. C...

Re: Wisp nasal CPAP mask question.
Thanks to everyone for their help. I will try adjusting the triangular piece tonight and see if that helps. Thanks Pugsy, sounds like Im just about there with a good seal. Maybe adjusting the head gear will help with the pressure too! Quite excited I have to say because I am not as tired as I have b...

Wisp nasal CPAP mask question.
Good morning everyone, I received a Wisp Nasal Mask to replace my Mirage Liberty Hybrid because I couldnt get a good seal with my new pressures of 20 over 16. This is my first attempt at a nasal mask. They tried one on me during my first titration and I couldnt tolerate it due to being a mouth breat...

Re: Can central apneas be caused by too-high pressure?
How long has it been since you were titrated? May need to go again. I just went through the same thing you are. I was on a bipap machine that did not register nor treat centrals. To answer your question, from what I have been told is yes high pressures can cause centrals to appear. Too low of pressu...

Re: Apria hose caution
Yes they took away my resmed. I was on a resmed BiPap for 2 years and still felt lousy. I had another sleep study a few weeks ago and it turns out that I have complex apnea. The resmed I was on was treating obstructive but wasn't designed to treat the centrals. During my sleep study they added a bac...

Full Face masks for higher pressures?
Hi everyone, I was just issued a new machine (BiPAP ST) with new pressure settings 20/16 with a back up rate of 8. My old pressure settings were 17/13 with no backup rate and it tolerated the pressure just fine. Well with my new pressure settings my Mirage liberty leaks like a sieve. I am going to t...

Re: Pugsy's Pointers...SleepyHead Tutorial...data understanding
Hey Pugsy long time no talk! Quick question, I downloaded and installed SleepyHead just as it says per your instructions but nothing happens. Is this compatible with the respironics machines? I do know they run off Encore, but that is sort of pricey for my budget right now. They had a freeware versi...

Re: Apria hose caution
I just got Apria as my DME and the hose I was issued with my machine was very poorly made in my opinion. They switched me over from a Resmed machine to a Respironics and I am using the Resmed hose. Luckily I have three to rotate with, and I plan on tossing the new hose I just got.

Results are finally in!
Well I am back! I had the sleep study and mixed apnea is what I have. My old machine was taking care of the OSAs but not the centrals. They added a backup rate at the study and noted that there was improvement. So I am now picking up my new respironics bipap st. I can't wait to use it and hopefully ...
