I can stand the mask and machine as long as i leave it on, it has improved my sleep but i dont sleep threw the night. I am a guy, dont have the hair problem but i found that if you cut the sleeve off an old t shirt and put that on your head prevents the straps from cutting in on your face and hair out of the straps. Hope that helps.
