Re: How many of you are 100% compliant?
I'm 100 percent at night. But I've fallen asleep on the couch a few times, so I didn't qualify for the 100 percent. In July, it will be two years, and I feel so much better than I did before; my health has improved in every way. I think I am one of the lucky ones. While I was waiting for my Cpap, I ...

Re: Need someone to fix my head
I am a newbie, using CPAP since June. I wasn't crazy about starting, but as soon as I felt an improvement in my health, I fell in love with my mask and machine. Seriously. I got pink pads for it, so it's kinda cute. When I go to bed I think, "this little machine is saving my life!" I don't like taki...

Re: Miss Lilly To The Rescue!
I spoke to a woman recently whose dogs played and frolicked on the bed until the CPAP went on. Then they curled up and went to sleep. Once when she was up late into the wee hours working on some project, one of the dogs drug her mask out to her and dropped it at her feet.

Re: Mostly OT: ibuprofen vs. naproxen?
They are very close. When I had my last knee surgery the doc told me to take Aleve (Naproxyn). I found that for me it worked great for the pain, better than the prescription painkiller. Haven't used anything else since.

Re: How long did it take before you knew cpap worked?
The first morning that I had the cpap on all night (I had an at home sleep test) I noticed a difference. It wasn't HUGE, I really thought it was an aberration the first morning. No running to the bathroom 3-4 times, generally feeling better in minor ways. It took me several nights -- gonna guess may...

Re: How long did it take before you knew cpap worked?
The first month on CPAP, I wasn't 100 percent compliant (busy, vacation, forgetful and blah blah blah) But once I got serious and left the mask on all night, I noticed a difference immediately -- the first morning. I didn't have to get up and pee multiple times, my throat wasn't sore, no headache, a...

Re: Cpap Intimacy killer or am I being superficial?
Pre CPAP, I apparently sounded like a charging rhino, frequently woke up with drool all over my pillow and felt like hell. I'm pretty sure I'm sexier now!

Re: what defines "overtightening" the mask?
My experience, limited as it is, is that when I get leaks, I loosen the straps. It's counter-intuitive, but for me it works.

Re: BCBS w/co-insurance or Online + OOP - please help me decide
I have BCBS also (with secondary) and they've been great working with me. Just stopped in a DME office to see about getting a backup hose. Their price was $47. Online price for EXACT hose was $7. I go with BCBS for all the standard stuff (replacement filters, etc.) and if I need something not standa...

Re: Trying Again
If you are successful this time, you will feel so amazingly better it will be worth it. I am positively giddy about the improvements in my daily life. I didn't realize how bad I felt until I felt better. I look better too! I am doing little things to make it easier (Got padacheek, a new pillow for C...

Re: Introduction - Newbie here...
From one newbie to another, welcome! I've been on the cpap since mid-June and it's the single best thing I've ever done for my health. I feel great, wake up rested for the first time in forever, and I'm seeing results in areas that I never even knew I could see results in (I look younger, my mood is...

Re: What is the average time on cpap?
Thanks! I've ordered a cheek pad and a nose bridge pad. Wasn't really complaining about the marks, just mentioning that was my only problem. I feel very lucky indeed.

I feel the same way! So great to wake up feeling rested and refreshed like I did when I was a kid. Beginning to think everyone should have a cpap!

Re: What is the average time on cpap?
Sorry about the confusion. I was wondering if 7.5 hours with the machine was about right. It makes sense that however many hours you sleep is what the numbers show. I'm not clear about the ramp time counting as machine time too. Will find out my model numbers and post that. It's all new and slightly...
