Mask type setting
I am in the process of trying to switch to nasal pillows from a nasal mask. I know there are settings for each type of mask. I have started the night with the nasal pillows and set my machine to pillows. Usually a few hours I find the pillows to be annoying so I switch to the my nasal mask. I don't ...

Re: sleepy head data
The rate was set by my DME. The Dr, on basis of my titration test came up with a 7 pressure reading so he wanted to try a 5-10 range on the APAP. So from reading your glossary, the 95% number is the 95% of the time the rate was at 10 or lower. I am not sure I understand why you wouldn't want it to b...

Mouths of babes
I have suspect that my husband has sleep apnea for awhile. He is not one to take care of his health. Nagging does nothing good. So often my approach is take care of myself and maybe he will. I just began cpap for myself and was putting on my mask when my 4 year old came in. She asked what it was for...

One night down
It has been a month since I started the process to address my sleep apnea. I got my equipment yesterday. I didn't sleep well last night at all but I expected that. My AHI was 12. My DME was great. All they deal in is ResMed Autoset 9 and climate line tubing. The tech was surprised I knew exactly wha...

DME/Sleep Centers in CO
I failed the sleep apnea test and had the titration test last week, I called my insurance, learned which DME's I needed to use to get full benefits. Picked one to that dealt strictly with RES med. The sleep center finished scoring my test and faxed my perscription to my chosen DME. Just my luck they...

how do you know
I think I have narrowed my machine to a resmed S9 CPAP or APAP not the ESCAPE.. The tech explained he wasn't convinced that a APAP was any better than a CPAP, he felt that the APAP may allow more apnea than should occur before changing pressure. He did say someone who changed positions from side to ...

Re: new to cpap
Spoke with the clinic I am using and they use the fisher paykel icon machines. Is there a place on this site that gives some reviews of this machine?
Thanks

Re: new to cpap
1 and 3 I know this clinic only gives out machines that have the data capability. So that is easy. My insurance has said it will pay for what the dr says I need. 2. I will do some reading on autopap vs cpap. 02 meter... I will ask about that also. Here in Colorado 90 is considered fine. That was per...

new to cpap
I had a sleep test last week and was told at the end I have moderate to severe apnea. She hadn't finished scoring it when I left. I was not surprised at all. I go tomorrow for a second test with a cpap machine. Anything I need to be sure to ask about. It is overwelming to see all the choices out the...
