Re: World Record AHI?

My sleep study AHI was 130. My current AHI is down to less than 2 now, sometimes way less than 1. So you stopped breathing for at least 1/3 of the time you were "sleeping" (calculating that each "stoppage" is the minimum 10 seconds required for scoring)! Wow! My apnea is positional. This was on my ...

Re: World Record AHI?

In the two hours I was in the study (before they put a mask on me), I stopped breathing 225 times, my sleep doc says I ranked in the top 10 of the worse they have ever seen. As far as benefits goes : I no longer have night sweats. I no longer snore like a freight train. I get up early and exercise n...

Hang in there, ask questions, study this board, learn as much as you can.

Re: New guy question

Hang in there.

I started CPAP late July. Felt horrible, didn't sleep.

This past week, I'm starting to feel better and sleep all night with the mask on. It will happen, just hang in there.

Re: Snoring vs CPAP noise?

Almost all of the new machines out there are very quiet, however I have the Resmed S9. My wife can only hear me breathing through my mask.

Re: Update : New bed, new numbers, new results

My old bed was used when we got it, and we got it 6 years ago. Its like a 2 inch foam mattress (non memory foam) with a box spring.

AHI of 1.3 last night. Still looking good.

Update : New bed, new numbers, new results

Over labor day weekend, the wife and I went and looked at beds. We kind of balked at the price of new high quality beds, but she had heard good things about TempurPedic, so we shopped a bit. The high pressure salesman (who wasn't high pressure for long after I started to walk out of the store) put u...

Re: 75 percent clear airway events

My centrals Look alot like Java's, however, something in the link that 1041 put in here caught my eye about Arousal triggered respiratory events. The words "Physical Pain". One thing that I have really been ignoring, I prefer sleeping on my back, however I never got a chance to do that because my wi...

Re: 75 percent clear airway events

The sleep clinic said that they will review the data when I have my follow up appointment in mid september. No openings until then. I'm sleeping ok most nights and feel good, so maybe I'm just being a little too "concerned" about it all. I have a few bad nights, and it seems I get a little more frea...

Re: 75 percent clear airway events

I really don't wanna stop CPAP, I just want the centrals to stop and I'm not interested in doing another sleep study. I don't believe I slept long enough or well enough to produce centrals.

I am going to call the sleep clinic today.

75 percent clear airway events

After 2 weeks of data collection (Still no time to post graphs, but its pretty conclusive whats going on. My leak line isn't erratic, the machine rarely even reports a leak) my AHI is still over 5 on average, and 75 percent of these are clear airway events. A bulk of them are an hour or so before I ...

Re: masks

I started on a Phillips Comfortgel Blue nasal mask. I found it leaked too much and woke me up so I asked my DME to fit me for nasal pillows. They gave me a ResMed Swift LT and I love it. My nose doesn't get sore at all, and I sleep most nights.

Re: I just got my sleep study

130 AHI for a 2 hour period, 225 OAs and 55 Hypopneas in a 122 minute period. I wasn't supposed to have a split study, but the tech said it was bad enough that they were allowed to put me on a mask. And this was after losing 18 pounds. I normally weighed 300 plus pounds, and when I went in for my st...

Re: I just got my sleep study

I feel like a new person.

I actually got up this morning at 5:30 and went for a run lol

Edit: My current AHI is normally under 2, Once I discount the centrals that show up when I'm laying there in bed after my brain is telling my body to get up and start moving

I just got my sleep study

I have been lax on asking for it, but I finally did...

AHI was 130.3, O2 Saturation dropped down to 80.

I guess it's a good thing I got this done when I did..
