Re: CPAP Basics - 15 - Table of Contents

Kaisgram- my daughter has Tourette Syndrome also . She is kind, sweet, and polite. I am always offended when people throw around TS like its some sort of curse. Hugs to you and your son. Thanks to mollete for all his work. I wish he had administered my sleep study instead of the goofballs who did mi...

Re: Do any of you have problems with scents, odors?

I have allergies and asthma and so does my mom. We can both handle some scents, but not others. Fortunately they are "opposite" scents. So if she gets something she can't tolerate I usually can. Then we swap products. Makes it kinda handy I have been this way many years. I still remember the horribl...

Re: Anyone want some Provents?

Well, if I can use it, I will just save it until spring. I don't want to use it full time

Re: Anyone want some Provents?

I would love to try them. They might be the answer to how I can go on an overnight bus trip with my sons band next spring!

Re: update on my DME drama

Don't you have to go back and get your data and possibly switch masks anyway? But as far as seeing the doctor, I'm not sure what it would do to help you. But then I don't have a sleep doctor. My ENT sent me for the sleep study after I begged for it. I followed up with him, talked about options (he h...

Re: Dealing with your peers

I just don't talk to my mom about it. But I think she decided I might need it when she found out my overnight oxygen levels without cpap. She has COPD and heart issues so she is very aware of oxygen issues.

Re: Dealing with your peers

I think maybe it is "worksheets" instead of "workshops" But that is just my guess from the context of the OP

Re: Dealing with your peers

Well, my mother immediately told me it "was a racket" basically that sleep studies are just a new fad, the centers are popping up everywhere, doctors are sending everyone to get a study, and of course the results will be that I have OSA because it's all a money making scheme. BTW, I was diagnosed la...

Re: Newbie, convincing insurance not to rent

I suggest calling your insurance company and talking to them first. My insurance company said they didn't care if I bought outright or did the rent to own. BUT - the DME insisted on the rent to own. We compromised by renting for three months, then they billed the remainder to my insurance. Even thou...

Re: taking mask off in my sleep now

Hey Amy, sorry you had such a bad night. The Swift blowing on the sheets bothered me a lot too. People really seem to like the new Wisp nasal mask. I haven't tried it, but have given it a serious look. I'm not sure how it does with blowing into the eyes, though. Maybe someone who has used it can tel...

I love my élan! But I'm sorry, I don't have an extra. They aren't too expensive from cpap.com, though.

Re: Graves Disease?

I don't know anything about Grave's. I think my MIL had it, but I'm not sure. BUT -- knowledge is power. Now that you know what is wrong you can address it. No more wondering why you feel the way you feel.

Re: so guess what?

Quiz your possible replacement DMEs on whether they will give you what you want when you want it before you commit to dealing with them. My insurance told me the same thing, but couldn't get Lincare to do it. They insisted I had a schedule! After I made a run for it from the DME that was connected t...
