Resmed S9 Elite Software?
Hi. Does anyone know if there is software that I can purchase that I can use to download my data from a Resmed S9 Elite CPAP machine, which will be my next machine coming my way soon. I am hoping to be able to see a report that shows more than my AHI and hours slept. Is there a compatible software f...

Re: CPAP and Weight Gain
I will talk to the doctor again. Oh BUT.....I am so excited. Last night I increased the humidity (see I had lowered it little by little because I read that a lot of people lower it to avoid the stuffiness) and it was better for me to INCREASE it. Also, I used a different mask. I had been using the S...

Re: CPAP and Weight Gain
You are absolutely correct about this machine. I have been fighting that fight for a couple of months now. First I had the Escape and then after my doctor insisted that he should be able to get an AHI report from the DME, even though I insisted he could not with that machine, then and only then was ...

Re: CPAP and Weight Gain
Thanks for the replies. In my case, I am no eating more food but actually less. However, after 4 months of using the CPAP now, I have not felt any less tired. In fact I feel worse. More tire than ever, a stuffy nose every single day no matter what setting I put the humidifier on, I wake up in the mi...

CPAP and Weight Gain
OK, I know this is going to sound crazy but I have to ask. Has anyone experienced weight after starting CPAP. I started CPAP in August and by October I had gained 9 pounds. Nothing else changed. My eating is the same. My exercise level is the same. But 9 pounds piled on in a matter about 6 to 8 week...

Interpretation needed.
Hello everyone. I am hoping that someone here can tell me what this means: The patient's habitus, the rarity of snoring, a history of aortic regurgitation and hypothyroidism suggest a wider differential diagnosis including OSA, hypoventilation and central apnea My actual study showed no obstructive ...

Re: How is EPR the same as AHI?
What makes this even more frustrating is that I was diagnosed with very mild OSA because my study showed 30 hypopneas. No Obstructive, mixed or central apneas. My AHI was 5.8. I told the doctor I feel worse during the 3 1/2 months on CPAP (he is not the original doctor so he didn't actually prescrib...

Re: How is EPR the same as AHI?
All I can do it laugh at this point. I just called ResMed so I could tell my doctor AND the DME that I know what I'm talking about. I have had problems with this DME since Day 1. Lies, lies and more lies right from the get go. The ResMed representative did confirm that the Escape ONLY records time ...

Re: How is EPR the same as AHI?
OK thank you. So I'm NOT crazy. I was seriously starting to think that I must have lost all oxygen to my brain and perhaps I am not understanding simple things anymore. I'm really not an idiot and this EPR being the same as AHI had me really questioning my sanity. So basically, they will waste my ti...

Re: ResMed Swift FX vs. LT
Thank you all for such great input. I did try the Bella Loops but they hurt my ear. I will try making the top strap looser and see if that helps, although I think I tried that and then had the straps at the top of my ear digging into my ear. I will work with it and see if I can come to some level of...

How is EPR the same as AHI?
I am VERY confused. After talking to my doctor about the CPAP not helping, he asked the DME for a more detailed report. All he has received was the hours used. He wants the AHI from the machine. The DME called me and said to go to the machine and he told me how to access the settings. He told me to ...

Re: CPAP for Hypopnea
My pressure is set to 10. The EPR is now turned on but the level is still set to OFF so I have no clue what the doctor and the DME are hoping to accomplish. I guess I'll find out at some point. It's easy for me to blame the DME due to their incompetency thus far. They made a couple of errors so far ...

Re: CPAP for Hypopnea
I just thought of something. I did not know what EPR was so I looked it up. I see it is supposed to help the person breathe easier. Could THIS be the problem all along? Should this have been turned ON? If so, this is not the first setting that the DME will have screwed up on.
