Re: Treatment Emergent Central Apneas- Resolution?
IMO you should work w/ your sleep dr on this. In my case I had significant increase in CA on CPAP versus my diagnostic test and my Dr said they usually got better after awhile. Mine did not (over 1 year), so Dr lowered my pressure a little to see if it would help. I was still feeling tired in the mo...

Re: Bicycle touring, camping battery for BIPAP?
Don't the power requirements vary w/ pressure, etc? I have 5 of the older model portable outlet batteries and they get me through 10 night backpacking trips with power to spare using resmed air mini but my pressure is low at 6 and I do not use the humidifier when out; my total cpap kit weighs in at ...

Re: Just don't feel any better
How is the experimentation coming along? Thanks for hanging in there with this. I haven't tried taping. TBH, I'm not wild about the idea--it sounds a bit dangerous. Ditto, you could try somnifix or poking a similar vent hole in tape. btw not all tapes are equal, some good discussions here and youtub...

Re: Have you had a COVID-19 Vaccine or have an appt?
from Dog Slobber ... haven't stated one thing that is your own personal experience. Why do you think you're an expert on my life? Go look up sulfite allergies and when you look in the covid shots both polysorbate and sugar have them. Rare, but guess what... I don't see your medical credentials poste...

Re: Have you had a COVID-19 Vaccine or have an appt?
>Why are you attacking me? Because you're full of crap, don't understand vaccines and should not have a platform. Just saying my experience with vaccines is not all roses, making no claims beyond my own personal experience. Most of the stuff the anti-vaxxers push is not grounded in fact at all, we ...

Re: Have you had a COVID-19 Vaccine or have an appt?
>Have you had a COVID-19 Vaccine or have an appt? Absolutely not. Our family has suffered enough because of vaccines. Nephew got his shots (not covid) and had seizures/coma that evening. Three dogs got their shots and it caused them to go deaf. I've been hospitilized for severe anaphylaxis before. S...

Re: Straw Poll: CPAP or Positional?
With CPAP you can get better feedback on a nightly basis about the effectiveness of the treatment - with side sleeping it's anyone's guess if and when you may need to do something better... (just saying I did the side sleeping 8 years and someone else insisted I be tested and I discovered I now had ...

Foam as a mask liner
Hi, just got the AirTouch mask and it's worked fabulously the last 2 nights (leaks, comfort). But at $60 a pop and short lifespan the cushion replacements look like they will eat a significant hole in my wallet. I'm wondering if anyone here has tried making a mask liner out of 1/2 " foam sprayed wit...

Re: Sleep study can be valuable even if it doesn't reveal apnea
Eight years later I wanted to discuss what happened in case someone ran into this old thread. I continued to sleep on my side and everything seemed great for a few years. I saw a pulminologist for an unrelated issue and he asked about apnea and I told him the story above, and he asked if I was satis...

Re: Sleep study can be valuable even if it doesn't reveal apnea
You might want a second opinion. OSA gets worse with age and so it might be a good idea to have treatment. Yeah, that thought's been nagging at the back of my head -- and there are other factors too, like the season and allergies that don't help. I don't want to do another study soon and have anoth...

Sleep study can be valuable even if it doesn't reveal apnea
Over the past several months (well, actually a lot longer), I started noticing recurring symptoms appearing - voice changes, sore throat in the morning, fluid in my mouth when I awoke, awoke coughing, difficulty sleeping, runny nose (allergies are bad news), and now for the past few months a dry cou...
