Re: After 10 years, I Suddenly Cannot Get Enough Air
Thanks all. I am healthy and have no other health problems. It’s been years since I’ve seen a sleep specialist and now have an appointment to see one but it’s not for another month. Chunkyfrog, the mask seems ok, not inside out. What else could it be equipment wise? Seems so bizarre to just start ou...

After 10 years, I Suddenly Cannot Get Enough Air
I’ve successfully used cpap for the past 10 years or so with minor tweaks here and there. Average AHI under 1. Out of nowhere this week I’ve had to pull off my nasal pillow mask multiple times to feel like I could actually breathe. My pressure range on my AirSense 10 was between 12 and 18. I am abou...

Re: Noisy Machine
My machine started to get very loud about a year ago. I the only option i have to help minimize the sound is to wrap it in a big fat towel to dampen the sound. It's the only thing that makes it somewhat tolerable. I'll also use a white noise app on my phone to augment if it gets really bad.

Need a Full Face Mask Pronto - Guidelines for Sizing?
I have to get a medical procedure done on the top of my scalp in a few weeks to remove a melanoma spot and it's going to take a month to heal. This poses a problem with the current nasal pillow/chin strap setup that i have...nothing can touch the top of my head while my scalp heals. I see some of th...

Re: High pitch whistle when using maching
Mine recently started sounding like a baby-lamb...it is driving me nuts! My DME says it's past the warranty date so i am stuck for a while. Would be curious to know as well what others have done...if anything can be done.

Re: Anyone Have a 2nd Turbinate Reduction?
Interesting to see a number of you have had multiple reductions...when i first had my turbinoplasty/septoplasty in 2011, my surgeon mentioned that a 2nd turbinate reduction is somewhat common. Looking at some old notes i have...this next procedure is referred to as a bilateral turbinectomy The other...

Re: Anyone Have a 2nd Turbinate Reduction?
I don't believe i have a temp setting. I have a Rem Star Pro Cflex+ 460. The turbinates can swell up at all times of the day. Like, right before bed, i could have the left or right turbinate swell completely shut (well almost completely shut). So i don't think the machine could ever reach it's full ...

Re: Anyone Have a 2nd Turbinate Reduction?
Yes, tried all of that! humidity settings low, high and off, and as well as most of the nasal sprays - veramyst, flonase, etc, etc. Nothing can ever get my turbinates to consistently shrink enough where i can breathe freely. Thank you both for your replies.

Anyone Have a 2nd Turbinate Reduction?
I'm leaning towards a second turbinate reduction. Curious if others have had this and if this had helped at all. Yes, i have read the horror stories of ENT. I had turbinoplasty/septoplasty 3 years ago with the awesome Dr. Park, which went great. However,my turbinates still swell up to the point wher...

Re: Help Desperately needed please
I was diagnosed with sleep apnea a little over 2 years ago and since then i have been to 4 different ENTs. ENTs 2,3 and 4 completely disagreed with what ENT 1 had recommended to me as a course of action. Point being - always, always get a second opinion and realize that different specialists have di...

Re: SleepyHead Series 60 Patch Avail
I installed the patch on my Mac last week - December 2nd - and it worked great . Today when i try to import data, it only shows data up until December 2nd...nothing for the past week. Did i do something stupid to my card where its not displaying this past weeks data? I have manually copied the conte...

Re: My First Data Post - Good AHI But Poor Cognitive Function
Thanks for the replies! Such a wealth of knowledge some of you have. Pugsy you bring up a great point about other possible health issues. That's exactly what i was thinking recently...if i adapt to CPAP well, am 100% compliant and the data is optimal then perhaps i need to look into other areas as w...

My First Data Post - Good AHI But Poor Cognitive Function
After lurking on this incredible site for a while, i decided to share a few days of data. After being diagnosed with moderate OSA, I began CPAP therapy over 2 months ago. I've taken to the mask quite well and have a good AHI but my cognitive function is still poor. I constantly have this horrible, d...
