Re: Nuvigil, Xanax, DME Visit and a New Mask...
Yesterday I was fed up. I had a dr appointment with my pain mgmt and she gave me a week sample Nuvigil. I took half of one and went to my DME to find another mask. Half of which kind of one, a 150mg or 250mg? Now, I must say the Nuvigil had me feeling awake. I was able to run a few more errands and...

Re: I have about had it with testosterone replacement therapy
Past the first week or two on the Androgel, I notice almost no benefit mood wise or libido wise from Androgel. If anything it is making my mood worse. Maybe some mild stimulant feeling. Or maybe that is just my blood pressure getting elevated from TRT. What was the basis for going on this in the fi...

[edit] ... and some days I could still fall asleep standing up. ... I feel like I am going to lose it. Thanks in advance. You are not alone. The short of it is that some of us get better quickly from CPAP, some of us get better slowly, and some of us don't get better. There is no way to find out in...

Re: Insomnia theory
Hi, Here's a shift of mental perspective that might help some folks to "get" the ying/yang of sleeping: I've decided that I shall no longer ever attempt to "go to sleep." Rather, I shall "go to bed." Going to bed is the only thing I can actually do. Since, it is impossible for anyone to "do" going t...

Thanks I got it. Sorry to take a while to reply. The weekend whirled by, and last night the forum didn't seem to work.kaiasgram wrote:AHI, I sent you an email with the name of the East Bay endo doc -- it's been sitting in my outbox for several days. Do you still want it?

Re: Lab test abnormalities!
Hi, So I took another test, this time for TSH, T4, free T3, and total T3. This time the total T3 is normal, at 83 ng/dL. So I guess it was low due to Atkins. Free T3 is also normal, 2.8 pg/mL within range: [2.0-4.4]. Frak! So now I'm taking up to 3400IU of vitamin D3 to try to get the slightly defic...

Re: The med. establishment mess: thyroid and "adrenal fatigue"
AHI, I'm up in the Sacramento area and I don't know about endo docs down your way. I do have a cousin in the east bay, though, so I'll email her and ask -- she does travel in medical circles professioally, so it's worth a shot! If you find any leads, let me know. I'll appreciate it! Thanks again fo...

How to begin evaluating sleep?
Hi, Since starting CPAP I've upped my sleep hygiene a little bit, mainly by turning the clock away. The impossible thing still is getting up at the same time every day. But I do that for several day bursts, and when I deviate I get back on track within 1-2 days. I seem to be having worse mispercepti...

Re: The med. establishment mess: thyroid and "adrenal fatigue"
Thanks for the replies, folks.
I have seen the CHRIS KRESSER site before, but hadn't read his page on thyroid. I'll have a look.
Still debating whether to have a saliva cortisol test...

The med. establishment mess: thyroid and "adrenal fatigue"
Hi: So I got a lab result with a low total T3 (1) , and a moderately low cortisol (2) at mid-morning, and a moderately low vitamin D (3). I wouldn't have even had these tested if it weren't for recommendations from people here on this forum. All my Dr. ever tested was TSH, and maybe T4. My Dr. did n...

lazer,
Several things might be inhibiting you from getting deep sleep: 1. the benzos; 2. sleeping too long; 3. no exercise.

Re: I've tried everything and nothing helps. Any tips?
Hi, I'm in a similar boat. I have mild/moderate OSA though, which I don't believe began until recently as I had a AHI=0 PSG 16 years ago, but my tiredness began 19 years ago, at about age 26. I think I'm sleeping a little better on average with CPAP, but it's not making any perceptible difference in...

Re: How to change pressure range on S9?
AHI, if you're still online, go into the Chat room, I just went in and can help you in real time to check out your EPR setting. If not, that link to the clinical menu should help. You can see EPR in the settings menu. You can set it at 1, 2 or 3. 3 is maximum pressure relief. Having less incoming a...

Re: How to change pressure range on S9?
Ok,
I think I can handle adjusting the EPR.
Mine was set to 2. I increased to 3.
What is the difference btw. EPR and BiPAP???
Thanks.
