Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

Just a suggestion. Don't put anything where the foam was and lower your usual settings by 2 or 3 cm and see how that works. Removal of the foam is not a reason to lower the pressure. The machine has pressure sensors that will maintain the correct fan speed. Of course, if you damage one of the press...

lol I put her on my Foe list soon after she joined here. It was quickly obvious she is here for some reason besides the purpose of the forum.

For me, the thought of no CPAP is horrible.

Keep working with your doctors and tell them everything you have said here. There are some solutions besides CPAP.

We don't have to mess with raw data. Sleepyhead takes care of that - see the link in my previous post.

Re: "full data" machine - why??

I'm a research scientist and love data. In this case, however, I am uncertain what benefit I would get from purchasing a data-generating machine. Since you are in research, I'll give you a little slack. But, I would fire an operations manager with that attitude. The old saying - "If you don't measu...

A bag of groceries at Christmas is also another politically destructive act I like to perform. Walmart has you beaten. They give their customers six weeks of free groceries every year. I'm waiting to see some proof...I still think this is BS I guess threads here still evolve and devolve. You never ...

Re: My Dr said I could do a HOME SLEEP STUDY

3. No documentation of a Medicare-covered sleep study supporting medical necessity. My only study was in 2005 and I was not Medicare-eligible until 2014. So clearly I have never had "a Medicare-covered sleep study". Maybe my current doctor knows the Medicare ropes well. He does seem to. As long as ...

Re: The underlying causes of sleep apnea

This belief is also a barrier to thin people getting proper diagnosis. This was my week to see doctors. This morning was the annual sleep doc visit. Monday I had my teeth cleaned and x-rayed. The hygienist knows I use CPAP and was telling me about her husband. He had used CPAP but then he lost a lo...

Re: The underlying causes of sleep apnea

Take it easy. You have to look at it from a detached perspective. People have different circumstances. I don't get why people take this thing so personally. You need to understand that you made a post which infers that, so that people get a more fundamental idea of the functional issue with sleep a...

Re: My Dr said I could do a HOME SLEEP STUDY

some insurers will not cover CPAP and supplies without a diagnostic sleep study. Medicare is one such insurer You might be wrong about that as far as Medicare goes. I've been using Medicare for 19 months now and they have paid for a new machine, masks, hoses, etc. I haven't had a sleep study in ove...

I don't think so. He was at the top of his class and an avid soccer player and also studied in one of the most demanding fields. Chemical engineering. He got sleep apnea when he started working night shifts and gained weight as a result. What? You don't think people with untreated sleep apnea can b...

It would be nice if I could at least feel safe on my own computer. Why would you not feel safe in this forum? You have a good level of anonymity if you choose to use it. If you feel it is a risk, you might want to remove your city name from your profile. Even though I have made personal contact wit...

Prevnar 13 - Need Advice

Would like some advice on when to have this. (I am skilled at googling, looking for someone who has done some actual research.)

I had the regular shot at age 60.
