Re: Is sleep apnea fatique ALWAYS or can it come and go?
I never felt fatigued - or alternatively, maybe I always felt fatigued but had been that way for so long it just felt like normal baseline! I only got diagnosed because my partner was disturbed by my snoring and sleep breathing. After a month or so on the CPAP I'm if anything a little more tired, be...

Re: REsmed S9 Humidifier
My DME gave me the disposable tub with my first setup last month. The respiratory therapist told me that they're almost through with their stock of the disposable style, and she expects by my first resupply in a couple more months, they'll be giving me the washable tub. It hasn't been annoying enoug...

Re: Sleep study results?
I just emailed my doctor and he emailed me the reports as soon as he got them from the sleep center, free of charge. I haven't printed them out but I'm guessing they'd be 2 pages each - maybe more if they were on letterhead or in a big font or whatever. I have seen other posts here with reports that...

Re: New User - trouble adjusting (unusual, I know!)
I'm right about at a month and I feel like I'm turning a corner with the alien facehugger - the past several days I fall asleep easily and stay asleep all night. (Mostly. Sleepyhead told me two nights ago that sometime around 2 am my pressure had gone back down and ramped up again, so either I woke ...

Re: Getting used to it
It seems like it varies pretty widely. I'm into week 3 now and I'm still more tired than I was before CPAP, because pre-CPAP I never woke up (at least not consciously) and now I'm well aware of waking up at least once or twice a night. But the wake-ups are happening less, I'm getting to sleep more q...

Re: sleep study and sleeping on one's side/back
I had my studies on two separate nights. Both nights I told the techs during setup that I don't sleep well on my back and asked what they wanted me to do. In both cases they told me they needed a certain amount of back time, but not all night. They suggested I try to start out the night on my back, ...

Re: Do you use RAMP?
My respiratory therapist set me up with a 45-minute, pressure of 4, ramp. I spent the first week with that "struggling to suck in air" feeling, then started tweaking settings. At the moment, three weeks into CPAP therapy, I'm working with a 20-minute ramp, starting at 6. Now I breathe nice and easil...

Re: I hate CPAP.
Hi, jjjmac. I'm very new to this too (about 10 days now, I think?) so I'm still figuring a lot of this out and having a lot of these same problems. But one little ray of hope for you: After the first few days of being deeply wary of the tubing, my designated nighttime-cuddling cat has decided the ho...

Re: OT: Mirena IUD and sleeping problems
I'm quite new to both Mirena and CPAP (and to posting here - hello!), but I didn't find that the Mirena made any difference to my sleeping habits or energy level, and my partner didn't note that it made my snoring (pre-CPAP) any better or worse. All my pre-Mirena reading and talking to friends seeme...
