CPAP Backup Power Device ??
Cleveland winter weather means power outages. Would most appreciate suggestion/s as to an effective power backup for my CPAP plus Humidifier. Perhaps something that could get me through 3 nights without power. Thanks as always. I HOPE the answer is not a deep cell marine battery!

Re: Charge for a Amara FFM Replacement Clip??
I did a quick check online, and that clip sells for $12.95 + $8.95 shipping. Hope you're able to find one locally. Thanks for checking, how'd you do that?? Gee, it seems like $22.00 should cover the cost of a 25cent piece of plastic quite nicely..grrrrr. Google "Amara mask parts," and places that s...

Re: Charge for a Amara FFM Replacement Clip??
Why in the hell would you be washing your mask in the kitchen sink with the garbage disposal running? To answer your question...I think it' s along shot that your DME would have the clip. The cost (charge) is the least of your worries. I was washing the webbing in a large plastic bowl in sink. I kn...

Re: How often do y'all really clean your machine?
I guess it's a habit I developed in another life. I take care of my stuff. So I clean my hose, humidifier chamber, and FFM every day. Yep, every day. Clean the little sponge filter once a week, disinfect the hose with 1P vinegar 3P water every week. Also make the bed every day, polish my shoes at le...

Charge for a Amara FFM Replacement Clip??
I was cleaning my headgear on my new Amara FFM with baby shampoo in warm water like a good boy, and the left plastic clip that holds the gear to the mask falls in the sink and is eaten by the running garbage disposal. What are the chances that my DME will give me a replacement clip Monday?? What are...

Re: OT - Bipolar Disorder
I deal with bipolar people daily (Veterans Administration Hospital - State Licensed Peer Counselor - Drug Addiction/PTSD/SMI/MST). It has been my 23 year experience that those diagnosed with an SMI can and do lead the life they choose - yes, recovery is possible. I have worked the psychiatry ER and ...

Re: Better FFM Mask Seal??
Ok, It's got to be me. Went to the Pad-A-Cheek website. I'm sorry but this site reminds me of a lady sitting at her Singer cranking out pot holders for the church bazaar. Hey, I'm all for cottage industries. The pics were a hoot. I'm sure that fluffy stuff is great for some, however I'm looking for ...

Better FFM Mask Seal??
My 'data' is showing some major leaks. I'm pretty sure it's coming from the bridge of my nose. Wonder of wonders. Any suggestions as to types of pads, etc.. I can put over the bride of my nose that I can use to get an optimum seal would be most appreciated. Specifics (websites, names) are always goo...

Re: REVIEW -Philips Respironics "Amara" Full Face Mask
OK, ten nights with the Amara FFM. Long story short, impressive! Pro's: high tech, light weight, thrust adjuster at the top of the mask that allows for 'fine tuning' leaks, head gear is, well, headgear, easy to clean (I guess I am either too anal or too new, but I clean everything , to include the h...

Pugsy, can you check your PM re:software
or read it publically here... Pugsy, thanks again for the info. My take is you are the 'Grand PuhPa' of the forum. Thank you for holding my hand through this process. I can see I have a LOT to learn. OK..I looked at the bottom of my machine and I see the letters 'REF' in a box with the following nex...

Snoring with a APAP?
I know "anything" is possible. Yet how likely is it that I would snore so loudly with a fully functional, properly set APAP with a good fitting FFM that someone (like my wife) would hear me in another room - assuming I am wearing it??

Re: REVIEW -Philips Respironics "Amara" Full Face Mask
Yep. Too wide at both the top and bottom. Would have to pull the headgear too tight to get a seal, if I even could. Good question.
