Re: I had absolutely no idea how much this would cost. I owe 5k
I have no idea what that's supposed to mean. I can't just say "screw all these bills" Your machine costs less than $1000 to buy outright...You set up a payment plan for something you don't even know what your paying for? You need to find out what exactly you're paying for because it sounds like som...

Re: Can't sleep w/o meds.
AHI15, if you took 5 mg of Zolpidem when you started the above post then you would be now sound asleep, regardless on which body postion you're lying. Wrong. A 12.5mg Ambien CR will make me fall asleep quicker than usual, but it won't prevent multiple awakenings, even with CPAP. I've tried it. Like...

Re: What do these lab results mean?
Normal arousal index is 5-10 so 21 arousals for the night is low. However an AHI of 15 is most certainly worthy of treatment especially if there are daytime symptoms present. I have to hope that the doctor wasn't a sleep specialist, because saying an AHI of 15 isn't worth treating is incredibly igno...

Re: So sleepy now I'm sleeping
I had a past sleep study suggest UARS because of high arousals, however they used thermistors, which are incapable of linking the arousals to breathing events. My current doc is going to put me in the lab again specifically looking for it. But anyways... Mind sharing exactly how you were diagnosed? ...

Well, I don't think anyone can argue that you are getting proper treatment with those numbers. Try turning off cflex in auto mode, your problem may have something to do with exhalation.

Re: 7 YEARS ON CPAP*DONT FEEL BETTER*PLS READ MY SLEEP STUDY*
You have normal amount of arousals. The cutoff for "abnormal" is an arousal index of 15-20. That means 15-20 an hour, you had an arousal index of 8.

I don't see specifically the sale you mentioned but the 60 series just came out in March I think: https://www.cpap.com/productpage/pr-sys ... -tube.html
They might be referring to 50 series they want to get rid of perhaps?

Re: New User - trouble adjusting (shocking!)
This is the 60 series: https://www.cpap.com/productpage/pr-system-one-60-series-auto-cpap-heated-tube.html Does it look like that? The previous 50 series looks like that but with a white panel instead of charcoal, basically the same machine but no heated tubing. The 90% pressure is what the machine ...

Re: New User - trouble adjusting (shocking!)
308 arousals, good lord woman! Also seems you have upper airway resistance syndrome rather than sleep apnea with your high RERAs but low AHI, interesting... Still waiting for another night in the lab to confirm it, but my sleep report from a few years back is very similar to yours. Anyways, about ge...

Re: Suffering part 2: Lowered the EPR
Here's a picture of various problems with flow, including limitations: http://chestjournal.chestpubs.org/content/119/2/442/F2.large.jpg Hypothetically, a RERA would look like a period of flow limitation followed by sudden regulation of flow (when the arousal happens). I think that's how respironics ...

It would be interesting to post around 3 AM, thats the time with the highest pressures and flow limitations. We might find a possible RERA

Re: Newbie with CIGNA Needs Advice
Insurance pays out the same no matter the machine, it isn't the insurance thats gonna try to screw you, its the DME if your doctor just rights a generic CPAP prescription. You can ask the dr. to be specific about the machine (make sure its data capable so you can keep track of how your doing) or ins...

Re: Temazepam
At normal doses most people shouldn't have worsening apnea with it, although it could in some people. For me at least it actually increases the arousal threshold so I get a better quality night of sleep. Just keep an eye on your data, worst case scenario your ahi goes up so you stop taking it, no bi...

Re: Suffering -- what is my SH data NOT showing?
It's really hard to ask you to change anything with data like that but have you experimented with EPR settings, HH, or have you thought about trying a straight cpap setting or a different mask? I'm just thinking out loud, I have no real reason for these suggestions? Hope you get this sorted out qui...
