I tried using mine on a trans-Pac flight on Cathay Pacific and the captain wouldn't permit it. I might have been OK if I'd contacted the airline in advance and gotten it cleared but I didn't and wasn't. Running on battery rather than plugged into the electrical might have been an easier sell as well...
