Re: Getting New Amara Full-Face Mask!
So I tried on the medium Amara mask, but it was just too narrow for my mouth. My DME didn't have the large, and said that Resperonics won't be releasing it for a few more months. So I got the FX instead. As for how the Amara felt... Very comfortable and much less pressure on my nose! My insurance wi...

Re: Getting New Amara Full-Face Mask!
As one who is ready to get a new mask due to also having problems with my quattro, I am anxious also to hear your report. I desperately want something that is lightweight and hope this one lives up to its reputation and is not hard to deal. I will be picking up the new mask tomorrow after work. I a...

Re: Getting New Amara Full-Face Mask!
Let us know how you like it. I'm currently using the FX. I tried the Mirage Quattro but it left a pressure sore on my nose and caused my forehead to break out from the forehead pad. So I'm a little leary of those types of masks now. I looked at the FX, but my DME said it is notorious for leaks, and...

Getting New Amara Full-Face Mask!
My last mask was the Mirage Quattro, and I hated it!!! It was constantly leaking, dug into the bridge of my nose, and was just hard to sleep with. I swear I got less sleep with that mask than without my CPAP machine all together! So I called my DME and she told me about a new mask that was just rele...

Re: ResMed S9 AutoSet Slim Tube w/ Mirage Quattro
Though I don't see a setting adjustment in the settings for EPR. How do you go in and adjust that setting? This link has directions on how to get to the clincial setup menu so you can get your hands on the EPR settings. http://www.apneaboard.com/resmed-s9-cpap-setup This link you can request a pdf ...

Re: ResMed S9 AutoSet Slim Tube w/ Mirage Quattro
Though the pressure at 8 seems almost too high. I swear I feel pressure in my ears and I have excessive gas (TMI I know), but it feels like the air is being forced into my stomach. Is this normal? Will I eventually get used to 8cm pressure? Yes, you will get used to it and in a short time that hurr...

ResMed S9 AutoSet Slim Tube w/ Mirage Quattro
So I just picked up my equipment yesterday and I've noticed a few things. My prescription was written for CPAP at 8cm only. My DME was perfectly fine with giving me the AutoSet, however, she would not program the APAP since I didn't have a prescription for it. My sleep study showed: 6cm = 9.1 Min Du...

Re: Newly Diagnosed - Help Choosing Machine
Thanks Pugsy! I downloaded the SleepyHead software and have it installed. I also found the 4.1 ResScan software and have it installed now to. My appointment with the DME is set for tomorrow afternoon. I'm strangely excited to get my machine and sleep with a mask on my face??? I guess I'm more excite...

Re: Newly Diagnosed - Help Choosing Machine
Thanks everyone for weighing in! I still think I am leaning towards the ResMed AutoStart with Climate Hose. Though if you decide you don't want the hose heated, can you turn that function off at the machine? I've seen people talking about different softwares. I assume it is so they can read the data...

Re: Newly Diagnosed - Help Choosing Machine
I talked with the DME that I'll be going to and asked if I could get an APAP machine, since they'll also do CPAP. She said she would. I hope she'll keep to her word.

Newly Diagnosed - Help Choosing Machine
I just got my Sleep Study results today from my Dr. He also gave me a copy of the prescription. So I'm all set to go to a local DME that takes my Insurance. However, I'm torn between the ResMed S9 AutoSet and the Respironics System One Auto CPAP and Humidifier (DS560HS). I'm leaning towards the ResM...
