Re: Which machines are OSCAR compatible?
Thanks Pugsy. So, just to be totally sure I have this right, if I buy a machine listed as a DSX500???, it will be supported by Oscar, which lists the 500X110 as fully supported (with no reference to DSX)?

Which machines are OSCAR compatible?
Sorry to ask what is undoubtedly a dumb question but I'm a bit confused about which devices OSCAR supports. I'm not sure how to read their user manual. For example, the DreamStation Auto CPAP 500X110 is listed in the manual as "fully supported." Does this mean a DreamStation DSX500S11 and DSX500H11 ...

Re: Can you use a CPAP machine to diagnose sleep apnea?
Thanks everyone. I don't think my machine works with Oscar, but I do have the DeVilbis software, which gives a very detailed report. I will try what you suggest.

Re: Can you use a CPAP machine to diagnose sleep apnea?
The machine is a DeVilbiss IntelliPap. The lowest minimum setting it will accept is 3.0. If I understand correctly, the idea would be to set it to 3.0 and then look at the readout to see if it the pressure went above the minimum, and if so, how much and how often? I have a nasal mask and a nasal pil...

Can you use a CPAP machine to diagnose sleep apnea?
A friend of mine is supposed to be tested for sleep apnea but his appointment isn't for a while. I'm wondering whether there's any way for him to use the monitoring function on my CPAP to test himself?
Thanks in advance for your help, everyone.

Re: How do you retrieve data from DeVilbiss Intellipap?
I didn't know about the smart code. I'll try it for a few days to see if it's sufficient and, if not, I'll get the module. I think I have all the info I need now. Thanks everyone!

Re: How do you retrieve data from DeVilbiss Intellipap?
Thanks everyone. No, I didn't realize you needed an attachment to be able to retrieve data. I guess I'll order it. Just to be clear, there's no way to access the data on the machine without buying the "SmartLink Therapy Management Module"?

How do you retrieve data from DeVilbiss Intellipap?
I just got a DeVilbiss Intellipap (DV54 autoadjust series) and I can't figure out how to access the data. I don't see an SD card, or even a slot for an SD card.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Can CPAP cause pain in lungs?
I've been using an APAP machine for about 6 months and have tolerated it quite well until now. But about a week ago I started waking up with a pain in the lower right side of the chest. The pain goes away when I take off the mask. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Re: What do these lab results mean?
I have two questions about the sleep study. Was it a split study or all night without any cpap equipment? How was her oxygen level? That would be a huge factor in determining how severe it is. It was all night with no CPAP equipment. The oxygen numbers look like this: Wake Min saturation (%) 86.4% ...

Re: What do these lab results mean?
Sorry, I didn't explain it right. She actually had 101 spontaneous arousals; 21 is the spontaneous arousal index.Diablode wrote:Normal arousal index is 5-10 so 21 arousals for the night is low.

Re: What do these lab results mean?
One more question I forgot to ask:
Total awakenings: 34
Wake after sleep onset: 111.0
What do these figures mean? They don't seem to correspond at all to the AHI and spontaneous arousal numbers, which add up to 173 (1 apnea event + 71 hypopnea events + 101 spontaneous arousals).
Thanks again!

What do these lab results mean?
A friend of mine just got these sleep test results and is wondering about her diagnosis. Does anyone know how to interpret these numbers? AHI: 15.2 (almost exclusively hypopnea; apnea was only 0.2) Spontaneous arousal index: 21.4 Stage 1: 20.3% Stage 2: 55.0% Stage 3: 15.9% Stage 4: 0.0% REM: 8.8% L...

Re: can this be sleep apnea?
Thanks for your feedback everyone. Actually, I think she's pretty much decided to have the sleep study. I asked that question mostly because of my own initial scepticism since I myself do have sleep apnea but very different symptoms. But what she's really curious about is the one-sided snoring. Does...

Re: can this be sleep apnea?
Is there any possible significance to the fact that she snores only when sleeping on her right side and not otherwise?
