Re: Having OP surgery. Should I bring Tap Pap or nasal mask?
I had my left hip replaced in late June and was in the hospital for 16 days. I took my entire machine and had no problems with using my equipment while in the hospital. I was worried about it after reading some related posts here, but my experience was positive. But, good luck sleeping in the hospit...

Re: Humidifier refill system
Next step would be to rig the unit with an auto-fill float system. Mine runs out of water in < 4 hours on a setting of 2. Refilling in the middle of the night is.........well.............doesn't usually happen. Thanks for the idea. This may start something really keen.

Re: Is my OSA/sleep apnea diagnosis a scam?
Only being on CPAP therapy for about a month now, I was wondering the same thing - was this all a big scam. But let me tell you, if you spend enough time at this forum you will find that it is not a scam. It is very important that you get all the info you can, including the data from your machine. ...

Re: Newbie having trouble interpreting data
The thing that caught my attention was the fact that my VS (Vibratory Snore) completely DISAPPEARS when I reach a pressure of around 18cm and above. Don't get too excited. Respronics machines quite flagging snores at pressures above 16 cm automatically. Just because they don't show up...doesn't mea...

Re: Newbie having trouble interpreting data
would anyone generally agree that the leaking problems could be the overall cause of my high AHI of around 35? No, your leaks are not an issue at all unless they are waking you up. Your leak line (except for the spikes which are very short lived and aren't the cause of the events) is well within ac...

Re: Bondage Anyone? An Approach to Positional Apnea
Just read this post and I can relate to all I read. Sleeping on my back was not an option for most of my adult life as I would just stop breathing (didn't know why at the time but it was OSA's). So I took to sleeping on my side. Started with my right side. OK for a few years, but had increasingly mo...

Re: Newbie having trouble interpreting data
As I noted in my last post, I will be seeing the Dr tomorrow for the first time since my initial sleep study. In the meantime, I have posted a detailed report below from 6/18/12 which was one of my better nights. Although I am just now beginning to understand some of the data, would anyone generally...

Re: Newbie having trouble interpreting data
Once you get the data dialed in we may be able to help more. 35 AHI is still very high (a good treated AHI should be well under 5), but there are some factors to consider: 1. All you can see on your screen is 7 and 30 day averages. If you were having a lot of leak issues in the first few days, then...

Re: Newbie having trouble interpreting data
Give me a couple of minutes and I will send you a private message and get you started on using the software to help you see what is going on. BTW..your humidifier choice is wrong in your profile. That one doesn't go with your machine. Not a critical issue but it will confuse people. In the Equipmen...

Newbie having trouble interpreting data
I am new to cpap - only about 2-1/2 weeks now. At the age of 58 should have been on cpap in my 20's - that's how long my wife has been trying to get past my stubborn thick skull. Now that I am on cpap I am trying to make sense of the data. My diagnosed AHI was over 90. With cpap my average is stayin...
