Thankful for finally getting some good sleep

Hello All, I have been out of the loop for a while, no not asleep, but in a new job which has devoured all of my time. But I did want to say that after two months I am finally feeling a lot better. I still get pretty tired, but that is because my arousals are still high because of my leg movements. ...

Agggghhhhhh

Don't make me pick just one reason for waking up. It was usually all three (although not all at once except for once and that was a very scary story no one wants to hear). It might be interesting thought to find out if the different ways of waking up are particular to different type of apnea is obst...

Thanks everyone for your great ideas.

I am definitely going to try them.

I think I may at some stage have to go the full face mask option but I would like to wait until the activa (as rumour has it in other posts) arrives later in the year.

Trying to keep my mouth closed.

Hi Everyone, I have been using cpap for about a month on the pressure of 13 with an activa nasal mask which I have gotten to sit right and feel right. My BIG problem is that I have air leaking out of my mouth. I have to wear a mouthguard because I grind my teeth really badly as well. I talked to my ...

Mask Design

Hi Designer, What a great project! I think you should be congratulated on doing a project on something that can attribute to people having a better life. I have been using cpap for about 3 weeks now. I use an activa mask, which I really like, however there are a couple of weaknesses I have found wit...

How much leaking is bad?

Hi Everyone, I have been on cpap for about a week now. Whilst I have no miracle stories to report, I have been feeling somewhat better. I was wondering how big does a leak have to be before it is too bad and hence not working? I woke up last night and I had the smallest leak because I was scrunching...

Thanks

Thanks everyone for your responses. Rested Gal I did not know about the lying down thing but I kind of figured it out by trying last night. I ended up loosening the straps quite loose and it worked well. I do have 2 pillows and I try to sleep on the edge of the top one for something to lean on. I ha...

my feelings

I have to say overall that my gp has been excellent. I have only been seeing her a short time and I suggested to her that I think I have sleep problems as I am tired all the time. Instead of seeing it as a part of my depression (which I have been battling for 10 years now) she saw it as an individua...

Hi Everyone, Well I am not make that was, so excited that I finally got my machine and I could not wait to start feeling better. I had found it really easy to sleep in the hospital with the mask on and I was even comfortable. But I have been the activa nasal mask but I have the sorest neck and shoul...

Thanks

Hi Everyone, Thanks for the advice. Perhaps it was because I did not have my humidifier on at all for the first couple of hours. I am kind of anxious about breathing in hot air - I don't like that sensation in my nose. I was also wondering if it was too tight and it was not inflating like it is supp...

red and sore face

Hi Wader, I started with my cpap last night and have an activa mask too. After 2 hours I woke up because my skin was sore where the mask was hitting it. Tyring to see if any amazing people had alrady addressed this topic I went to the archives and found your message where you said you keep a thin la...

Symptom of sleep apnea

Hi Everyone, I was wondering if any one has found that they were waking up burping before they were aware of their sleep apnea and got treatment? I have been doing this a few times a week for the past month or so. I was talking about it to my acupuncturist thinking it was some belly thing but someth...

Acupuncture and apnea

I started going to acupuncture to help my sleepiness, (my apnea was undiagnosed at that stage, I just thought I needed more energy). I have found it to be very beneficial in everything but the sleep apnea. I am less anxious, my stomach does not hate me as much as it used to and I really enjoy the me...
