Re: keeping your mouth closed while sleeping
When I first started CPAP I was a mouth breather so I purchased the Ruby chinstrap. I hated using it so I tried a recommendation from one of the forum members. I put the end of my tongue behind the back of my upper teeth. I practised this all day and now it is habit. Perhaps this technique is what k...

Re: Replacing Wisp Nasal Pillow - Different guidelines, etc
I have the Wisp Nasal mask. The kit came with, large, small/medium and "P", which I assume stands for "Petite." I use the large size so I can give the s/m & P to whomever needs them. Just PM me and I'll send whichever size you need. If you are outside the US, I would appreciate you paying for postage.

Trouble downloading data for new card - Sleepyhead & Encore
My son is visiting from out of town and we want to download his SD card to Sleepyhead & Encore. He has the same machine as me - PR 560 Auto. Does anyone have any pointers? I keep getting a message that says download problem. Thanks!

Re: APAP or BiPAP?
Thank you for your replies, He has to go back to his dr in a couple of weeks to go over his data. It will be interesting to see how knowledgeable (or not) his dr is. In the meantime, my son doesn't want me to help tweak his pressures. Using personal experience with curing my snoring by raising my bo...

Re: APAP or BiPAP?
I'll ask him. He emailed me 2 nights of data but the print is very small! He's new at this, but I'll see what he will do.
Thank you for your input. If I understand it correctly, unless he needs a pressure >20cm, he doesn't need a BPAP.

APAP or BiPAP?
My son (age 31) was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea by having an overnight sleep study at the hospital. Unfortunately, he only slept around 5 hours so they couldn't do a titration study. His pulmonologist rx'd a PR 560 with settings 6-20. After 12 days of use, my son's 95% pressure is 16.9. His ...

Good point, Wulfman. I'll try doing a nasal cleansing tonight. My humidifier is set at "2".

Thank you, Pugsy! I'll increase the bottom number. Should I leave to top number as is?

How do I reduce my snores?
I have read various topics about snoring but I'm a little confused. I am posting 2 nights of data. The first night my snores were 16.0 so the next night I increased my top number on my APAP. The snores went down to 9.7 and the pressures went up. I'd like my snores to go down even more. Does anyone h...

Trouble with Encore data
I haven't been online for quite some time so I don't know if other people are experiencing this problem. I have never had a problem obtaining my data from Encore. Today I tried and I got a message " A Philips Resperonics card was not found" and it won't let me download any data. Has anyone else expe...

After 24 years of teaching - first 4 years teaching music in England, Turkey and eventually Long Beach, CA, I taught Severely handicapped students. My back went out so I took early retirement. Now I volunteer at my church.
