selling some masks + parts
Seems like I finally got Redmed's swift FX (nasal pillows) to work for me. I recently went through my older/initial masks and came across a few which I won't be using anymore. If someone is interested in buying, please PM me: 1. Resmed Mirage Liberty (hybrid): I used the mask for about a month and a...

Re: alternating masks
Just a small update since it has been a while since my last visit here. I have been using Resmed's swift FX (nasal pillows) for a while now and am very happy. Solid 6-8 hours of sleep per night and zero leaks. It took a while to get used to and I went from large to medium nasal pillows a few times (...

allergies
I was quite happy with CPAP and got 6-8 hours of sleep a night until recently. I suspect it is due to allergies (sneezing, itchy eyes, stuffy nose, congestion which causes headache). Anti-histamine pills don't do much for me and I may try products which contain different active ingredients to see if...

Re: alternating masks
I got a Swift FX nasal pillow mask, but it irritated my nose if I used it all night. I wore it for part of the night and then would go back to the ComfortGel nasal mask. I gradually increased my time on the Swift, sometimes doing it all night, sometimes skipping a night when my nose was irritated. ...

alternating masks
I started CPAP using Quattro FX full face mask. But after a while I noticed I get a dry mouth and decided to give the nasal pillows mask a try (forgot the name). It didn't prove to be comfortable (had to tape my mouth) so I tried the liberty hybrid mask which worked fine for a while (didn't get dry ...

Re: new cushion night = smiles
I once got lazy and didn't clean my mask for 3 weeks. I then cleaned it and started experiencing leaks again. Ahhhh! I guess I had it set just right with the velcro and the dirty cushion fitted just right, preventing all leaks.

Re: braces and invisalign
I wear Invisalign and have not experienced problems wearing them at night while using the CPAP. (Only been using CPAP for one month). Once or twice I forgot to wear the Invisalign and there was not a noticeable difference. Thanks. I was fairly certain there wouldn't be a difference but just wanted ...

braces and invisalign
I've recently started giving thought to having the invisaligntreatment. To those who don't know, it is the same idea as braces (correct teeth alignment) though different mechanism to achieve it. From what I understand, after finishing the treatment (8-16 months), one has to continuously were them at...

Re: selling Innomed Hybrid mask
can't seem to get rid of my hardly used (less than 30 minutes) mask and it accumulates dust. I'll end up forgetting about it. Selling it for $50 + shipment. Forgot to mentioned, I have the package and all the original content. The only "damage" it that i cut the connecting silicone between one of th...

Re: recently diagnosed and recent CPAP user - my story
Thanks for your encouraging post! I am three months in and things are better, but not only do I find myself taking the mask off in the middle of the night, I wish I felt better. I can see that I need to continue to persevere... Phil I have had nights where I felt I had to take off the mask as well....

Re: recording myself to check if I'm snoring
Thanks for the suggestions. I'd just like to clarify something. I know I DID snore and my doctor knows that too.
He just asked me if I know whether I still snore.

recording myself to check if I'm snoring
On a recent followup meeting with my doctor, he asked me if I know whether I am still snoring. I have no idea, though the technician in the sleep study said I didn't snore. But a few months have passed since and I also use a different mask if that makes a difference. Any ideas on how to record mysel...

Re: recently diagnosed and recent CPAP user - my story
An update: I have been using the CPAP for about half a year. In the middle of the treatment, I had about 3 months of poor usage or not using at all due to some cooling issues in my apartment I won't get into now (exceedingly hot during summer) plus mask adjustments issues. Anyways...... Last Friday ...

Re: mask maintenance and replacement
I have the Quattro...I use it for a year before replacing it. The plastic doesn't wear out. As far as the silicone...I replace mine every 3 months...in between I occasionally put my silicone in boiling water to clean it. It comes out like new. PS...I have insurance. Boil some distilled water...add ...

mask maintenance and replacement
Every week I take my mask apart and thoroughly clean it. I periodically replace the silicone parts as proper sealing becomes an issue and I can see the silicone parts are no longer clean/clear as they used to be. I was wondering whether there is any sense in replacing the actual hard plastic mask bo...
