Re: Tap water not a good idea

This topic keeps bubbling to the surface from time to time . I have been using tap water in my humidifiers for the past 2 years, and so far no issues. My H5i humidifier tank (which I have been using for the past 13 months) is as good as new. We do have filtered tap water which is generally what I us...

Re: Pugsy

So glad that you are back on deck (well heading that way hopefully) again Pugsy. Hope your health continues to improve and you don't have a relapse - so go along quietly and we will all understand if you don't get to post as much meantime.

Re: Pugsy

I too hope you are able to rest up and make a good recovery before too long, Pugsy. I quite possibly would have walked away from xpap without your help, and the help of other contributors on this forum. I guess many here would say the same. Once again thank you very much. Just sorry to think of you ...

Re: Distilled water during travel

I probably buck the system and break all the cpap laws, but I only ever use filtered tap water here at home - have done for a year or so now without any issues. When traveling overseas, for 6 weeks, recently, I just used tap water wherever we were staying. I usually get 3 nights out of one fill of t...

Re: Tailoring sleep position to keep it on, annoying. Solutions?

I see you are using nasal pillows. Have you considered trying the Tap Pap nasal pillows? I tried all manner of masks, and being a restless sleeper they all leaked and disturbed my sleep for many months of CPAP therapy until I tried the Tap Pap (seven months ago now) and virtually from day one (actua...

Re: Tap Pap users?

I am thinking the Tap Pap mask might be a really good switch for me (I currently use the Swift LT For Her nasal pillow mask) because I only have one ear and the darn mask is always slipping down on that side...but I do have a mouth guard for bruxism. I have two questions: 1) Is the bite guard for t...

Re: I have been banned from the ASAA Board

Whatever credit that you had there at the ASAA website with your Sleepy Head you lost with your lousy business approach. Is this the way that you want to promote your baby? Also, whoever read your above post to me would stay away from your SH in favor of ResScan. Resmed could be trusted business- w...

Re: Mask and supplies: DME pricing vs. online pricing

Wow. I think that'll be the last set of supplies I get from the local DME. Granted, the filters at CPAP.COM are not genuine Philips Respironics, but I've used them, and can't tell them apart. The DME has good and helpful people, but once you've been in this rodeo for a year, the service is unneeded...

Re: To the Tap Pap users

Yes there has always been a small amount of pressure - it shouldn't be so much that it is uncomfortable. After the first one or 2 nights of use that feeling became unnoticeable. I guess I was one of the fortunate ones who got the boil and fit right first off and now after 5 months of Tap Pap it is s...

Re: Price difference whinge

I know exactly where you are coming from. I don't even think of buying CPAP gear locally here in NZ. For an example, if I did buy locally, I would pay NZ$160 for a Resmed H5i humidifier chamber (dishwasher safe) for which I can get it for NZ$40 from a US supplier - criminal when you think that it ha...

Re: Frustrated

Hi chrate - I have been down the same road and have tried various masks - nasal, full face and pillows, and all leaked until I tried the Tap Pap (pillows). I had had several months of 3-4 hours usage per night, then when I got the Tap Pap, overnight I jumped up to 7-8 hours (as long as I stay in bed...

It felt wonderful.
The danger of a frog overdosing on cpap is that they might leap too high and then come down to earth with a crash

Re: Why is it necessary to have prescription to buy cpap?

Hi, First post and am an Aussie so hopefully I'm forgiven for my question. I'm looking for a new cpap machine preferably Resmed but find that to buy in the U.S. a prescription is required, is there anyway around this at all? I have been using a cpap machine for about the last 9 or 10 years starting...

Re: Kudos to our host

I've been using the TapPap for 3 nights now. I'm a mouth breather who tapes. I also usually wear a night guard, a chin strap and before trying this, the Wisp. I want this devise to work for me as its very comfortable and "it" doesn't leak. I could also do away with the night guard as this would sto...
