Re: Can people genuinely fail to tolerate CPAP?
I know the feeling of this initial post! My road has not been easy, it's been frustrating. I was misdiagnosed initially, and only because I had a data card, and used info I found, did I get the proper diagnosis. It wasn't the sleep lab, it was me that went to the DR and had her evaluate my results. ...

Re: Semi-obvious travel tips
I also have a hose hanger that I made out of PVC pipe that easily fits into my suitcase.
Keeps the hose up and out of the way.

Re: Bringing or Obtaining Distilled Water on a Cruise?
I also have a PVC hose hanger that I made that is portable and takes up very little space in a suitcase. The room stewards have no issue with it.

Re: Bringing or Obtaining Distilled Water on a Cruise?
I have used mine on Royal Caribbean and Carnival. The room stewards are very aware. I use a towel to cover the cord at night, the stewards always made sure I had a towel to use.. I got Distilled Water from both. I think Carnival charged $3.. I contacted the cruise line and made them aware of the CPA...

CSA and A-Fib
I am having a constant struggle with my CSA and now my A-Fib is really acting up. I am struggling with my Central Sleep Apnea, insomnia and the D*MN ASV/CPAP machine. Gets so frustrating. The neurologist is very helpful and understanding, she has given me a different sleep med to try for middle of t...

Re: hose hanger options for multiple hotels
I made one out of PVC pipe. I have 2, one for the house that is glued, and one that I made that can be taken apart and put into a suitcase.
I have never had a issue at the hotel, they take it out from under the mattress and make the bed. Sometimes they even put it back!

It does allow for some of the guessing game to be over.. If she puts the mask on, he will know she is definitely not in the mood!! Seriously, I still have issues of forgetting to put the mask on at night when my wife is in bed (She works midnights) and a part of me thinks its psychological of her se...

Re: Not sleeping thru the night
Sadly, I have been dealing with this for a while.. Diagnosed with severe insomnia.. I get to the 4am period and religiously wake up for the bathroom and cannot fall back asleep with mask.. Will sleep if I keep it off.. Is a daily struggle..

Re: Sleep Doctors. Any Success Stories?
I got very lucky by finding a Doctor that was connected with the hospital (St. Agnes) that did my sleep study. When I went to her for the first appointment, I had printouts from Pugsy and Sleepyhead.. I showed them to her.. She went back to my sleep study notes and saw that they missed my CSA diagno...

Re: My 2 year struggle.. OA to CSA.. Cpap to ASV.
How are you doing with sleep hygiene? Going to bed at the same time each night, Only doing sleep in bed - no reading, no TV, etc., Developing the habit: "I'm in bed and masked up therefore I'm going to sleep" No snacks after dinner, No fluids after dinner, No spicy foods or caffeinated beverages af...

My 2 year struggle.. OA to CSA.. Cpap to ASV.
Well.. I am past my 2 years of dealing, I'll call it struggle.. Nothing is easy.. Everything is complex with me.. I cannot get past 4 hours on the machine.. Once in a while, I will get 6.. But that is rare.. I have access to my data, with help from Pugsy.. The numbers look good.. leaks are low.. I h...

Re: Might be joining the Bilevel or ASV Club
I went through this transition..
Its still a struggle for me..
I average over 4 hours a night..
The downside is, Sleepyhead doesn't work with my ASV..

... Only thing different was I went to a baseball meeting and had a beer ... You might want to experiment and see if it makes a difference if you are in a recliner or not. Or if you have more pillows helping you stay upright or not. Additionally, does it seem to be due to higher pressure that you h...

Re: Update on OSA/CSA.. Asv..
I guess I posted too early... Last night was horrible.. Slept until 2.. I went to the bathroom, and put the mask back on.. I was awake until 345, when I finally took the mask off.. I may have gotten another 30 mins sleep.. Only thing different was I went to a baseball meeting and had a beer.. So wil...
