Re: Lab tests--what to cover for one last go?

I'd add free and total testosterone to the list, ferritin, the B vitamins such as B12 and folate. Deficiencies in any of those can cause fatigue.

Re: Provigil vs. Nuvigil

Simple answer: three easy differences, and a couple more complicated but really important ones for you. First, Nuvigil (armodafinil) requires a smaller overall quantity than Provigil (modafinil) for the same effect; 250 mg of Nuvigil = 400 mg of Provigil. Second, after Nuvigil got out of clinical t...

Provigil vs. Nuvigil

My doctor has suggested to try Provigil or Nuvigil as an augmentation to CPAP therapy to treat my residual daytime sleepiness. I'm interested in hearing feedback from anyone who has used either of these drugs, or especially people who have tried both. Did you notice any differences between the two? ...

Re: I really hate ResScan Software

Um... okay.... So the bottom line is this. How do I get all the *.rlk files, Notes.db, PatientDetails.db, and Summary.dat files in my data directory to get recognized by the ResScan software again? Let's forget that for me the software is buggy and crashes. This is essentially a "how do I transfer o...

Re: I really hate ResScan Software

I been using ResScan 3.16, almost daily, for more than a year, and never saw the above windows. If you go under Tools > Patient Manager it will open the window in the screenshot. Under Default it probably lists 1 patient for you and then lists your name in the window below. The purpose of my screen...

Re: I really hate ResScan Software

What does the SP stand for after 3.16? Mine says 3.16 without it, and I have not had any problems like that. On rare occasions, it stalls while downloading, but I just hit cancel and download again, and it works fine after that. I have not lost any data or had any blue screens of death. What operat...

Re: I really hate ResScan Software

Here's a screenshot of Patient Manager and the directory where my data files are kept. As you can see, ResScan is set to "look" in the default folder for patient data files, yet the folder containing my data isn't showing up on the Patient List.

I really hate ResScan Software

Well, ResScan just ate my homework. This software has perpetually given me blue screens of death through two different versions. After my latest attempt to upload my SD Card data into the software, it gave me three blue screens during the download process. Now ResScan doesn't even pull up my patient...

Re: Insomnia and Art Bell on Coast to Coast AM. Anybody else?

Art was the cause of many late nights for me. I found him one lonely night in 1999, while driving between Austin, TX and Columbus, OH, when I was in a heartbroken and low-point of my life. Art had the kind of personality and voice that could make listening to him reading a VCR instruction manual int...

Re: Two completely contradictory sleep studies

Welcome to the forum. My heart goes out to you in your situation, which is obviously very frustrating to you. I can empathize with the symptoms of chronic fatigue having a dramatic ability to interfere with your plans and quality of life. Although others will be better able to answer some of your qu...

Re: Is it okay to use....

I know these are hard times and while I don't wish to be insensitive to people's financial situations, but I'm not sure the cost of distilled water is something to worry so much about. I just purchased a gallon of distilled water for 88 cents. A gallon lasts me about a month. That's a cost of about ...

You should try making a CPAP machine powered by energy generated through pedaling a stationary bicycle.

Re: Link to a drug study treatment

Someone mentioned to me recently that sleep apnea is on the list of things medical marijuana can be prescribed for - assumed they were mistaken, as I don't understand how it could possibly help. Wondering exactly HOW this "med" is supposed to help with sleep apnea. Anybody know? Seems about right. ...

ResScan 30 Day Compliant Period

I'm using RedScan 04.01.013 and have a question about the Statistics section. When I choose the dropdown for "30 Day Compliant Period" the software, by default, begins counting my data from the first date of available data and counts through for a total of 30 days. In my case, it begins with April 2...

Re: Atrial Fibrillation strikes again

I have to adhere to a no tyramine diet because of taking an MAO inhibitor. I don't know if all tyramine containing foods are bad for people with atrial fibrilations, but there are many more than just cheese. Soy sauce, aged meats, over-ripe fruits, leftovers, etc. are all high tyramine containing fo...
