Re: Eye protection with full face mask
Plus one for the Onyix eye shields mentioned above. However, a big caveat, try to find the old style with the narrow nose bridge. The newer model has a very wide and less flexible bridge and does not work as well with most CPAP masks - IMO. Plus the old style is twenty bucks cheaper! Try here: http:...

Re: CPAP tube cleaner
Being unconventionl, I use Star San, a brewery and food grade acid sanitizer. Properly dilute it (1-oz / 5-gallons), put about half a quart into the hose, move it back and forth, and empty it out. It's actually a lot gentler than it sounds, and leaves a surface that is anti-bacterial. Without rinsi...

Re: SOT Kudos
I'm on a trip and I didn't bring all I needed for my setup. I didn't forget just thought I wouldn't need it Called our host, they said it was in stock and could deliver it overnight, I said OK, and they did. You can't ask for better service than that. Good for CPAP.com, our gracious sponsor. It's a...

Overkill... even a hose brush is not needed unless you live in the tropics (possibly). I plug up the ends with paper towels to keep out critters and hang in my bedroom to somewhat dry, but that's about it.

Re: Donating Old CPAP
Last I heard the CPAP failure rate was still at about fifty percent, even considering all the new machine features and substantially more comfortable and efficient masks. People with a lot fewer challenges than your son simply refuse to get with the therapy - we see it here at CPAPtalk nearly every ...

Re: I went to my new ENT/Sleep doctor
I sympathize. It was the same thing for my family member to get a new wheelchair. Insurance company would only replace if it wasn't fixable any more. How is he supposed to function WHEN HE CAN'T WALK!? Do you know what he did? He APPEALED and got the new wheelchair (the old one will be used in the ...

Re: Donating Old CPAP
As others have said... probably keep it as a backup. Alternatively, offer for very low cost on Craigslist. Include the run hours. I'm sure there is someone locally desperate to find a low cost cpap. Somebody on craigslist might buy it for a backup if the price is super cheap... but shipping could be...

I wonder if the newer SNRI's have that in common with the older SSRI meds? Tricyclics?
BTW, Medscape is asking me to log in.

Re: Mouth only mask
I currently use a full mask bc I'm a mouth breather. I have heard from a few people about a mouth only option. Has any one tried these and would this site have them for cheaper? Thanks everyone. You're always helpful and knowledgeable. How come your full face mask isn't getting the job done, it sho...

Re: HOW TO: Disable Speaker on Philips Respironics System One
Jdm5, Bravo for showing us all how to turn off the beep on our Respironics machines! I wasn't brave enough to desolder my transducer, but your instructions inspired me to put two layers of thick double-stick tape on the speaker and it cut the beep volume by 3X. So my wife has been able to sleep. No...
