Re: OT- What's for dinner?
My family likes it stuffed with mashed potatoes and cheese on the inside. Ground beef has been too expensive for our crew to have it often. How do you stuff a meatloaf??? Seems like it'd fall apart. Maybe you could make a mashed potato and cheese log, freeze it solid, then wrap the minced meat arou...

Re: Hypo filter or not?
I now splurge on filters from CPAP.com... they cost a bit more but the quality control is great and I've never gotten a bad filter in three years. CPAP.com is our sponsor and I like to give them that extra bit of business - stuff like cleaning supplies, including Control III and mask wipes, plus sev...

Re: Hypo filter or not?
If you were to see it and feel it and compare it to the white fine filter you would understand why. It's too porous and is simply not going to do a good job of filtering IMHO. It's not foam but it will withstand numerous washings. I know because I used to do it with my first S9 but when I finally g...

Re: Device use when travelling
Thanks everyone. I guess this is all relative since, because I just got my device and have not yet had a good night's sleep, I don't know how much of an improvement I will see. Perhaps after I see these benefits I will be in the same camp as everyone else (where it seems pretty obvious that you tak...

Re: screen time out
I've never seen a post relating to shortening the display time on the LCD/LED before... therefore I'd have to say toss a thin dishtowel over your machine or use a post-it etc - like the previous post recommended. Some people have used a piece of red gelatin or acetate film (sold at art supply stores...

Re: Respironics system one
Here's a PR teardown that is an oldie but a goodie. I DO NOT recommend disabling the transducer/beeper like the author suggests. The teardown part is pretty comprehensive tho and very easy to perform (I've done it several times). You do it at your own risk - naturally. You sound like you've got some...

Re: s9 filters
Like Pugsy said about a month... but it all depends on your level of dust, pollen and stuff floating in the air. In past years, I've purchased some weird and defective filters on Ebay, so I now splurge on quality filters from CPAP.com, our sponsor.

Re: Is the Machine Breathing Me?
Nope, unless your machine is an ASV model... which I presume it isn't. It'll take a little while for your brain to get used to the pressure changes when drifting off to sleep.

Hey all - Anyone had any trouble with their CPAP machine rotary knob stops functioning ? It still rotates and goes thru its indents but cannot access menus or change the temp of the humidifier. Thankfully it stopped working while it was on therapy. The "4" option for the humidifier is a bit much th...

Maybe I'm not clear on what your question means, but the only one I can think of is this long time member linked below:

However, he uses an Oracle oral mask and needs the extra moisture to keep his mouth moist.

Re: Full face masks, from a viewpoint of an engineering student
The way I look at is this: Your example is good observation on compensatory fluid dynamics (often directly comparable to air pressure dynamics). If one's mouth opens then a 'tributary' temporarily releases the pressure to a side loop - so what's the end result and where does that release of pressure...

Re: Chest discomfort
It does occasionally happen with newbies but in reality that issue is outside our bailiwick. See a doctor to be on the safe side.
