Re: Good Progress
It's good to tweak if you're stuck as long as the results are desirable and your numbers improve. Since you are feeling better, sleeping more, more energy, and less pain, then I'd say you are on a successful path! It's also a good thing if your doctor is involved in the tweaking... not that doing it...

Re: Benefit of climate hose?
The benefit I like most is that I have never experienced rainout with the ClimateLine hose. I set it and forget it Can't get any easier than that (for me)...

I liked the "Take an active role in your sleep apnea therapy" quote on the page. Wouldn't it be nice if more of the DME's and doctors agreed?

Re: I triple dog dare you...
Starlette and Notyourz, you two are beautiful! Thanks for those pictures! Notyourz, I can definitely see the difference. You look like you've gotten younger! And Starlette, the Aloha set-up is hilarious. I should have taken a pic in one of my jerseys, to honor the upcoming football season! But in t...

Re: I triple dog dare you...
I'm working on a shot with the mask on and will post when I can get it together. I have one ultra scary one of me at my sleep test and I'll upload either this afternoon or tomorrow afternoon (work has been a bear for the last 2 weeks). The sleep study pic was taken at the time when 3 hours of sleep ...

Re: Snoring! Did you develop avoidance strategies? (Long post)
I grew up in the Hollywood-Ft. Lauderdale area and lived in FL until 4 years ago when I moved up here to the mountains to escape the summer heat. I stopped going to the beach when I was about 16 and like you, I never thought anything about it. I was just too tired to pack all the things up for the d...

Re: Um no cuddles?
. . . snuggle time. Sounds complicated, but it took less than 2 minutes and $2. . . . So, did I understand that correctly--that your husband charges you two dollars for two minutes of complicated snuggle time? Oh, never mind, I get it now. Yep. I charge HIM for the snuggle time. Crystal clear?

Re: Fatter Nose (after using cpap pillow)
Now THAT was funny Laser! I was born with a bit of a piggie nose, so I guess it's no big deal for me. I like to call it my pug nose and I already adjusted to it a long time ago and way before xPAP. As long as xPAP doesn't make my nose go through a transformation similar to Michael Jackson (in revers...

Re: Um no cuddles?
I sleep with either a FFM or the hybrid type mask and cuddle time with my hubby before sleep continues as it did before I began APAP. I still rest my head on his shoulder and snuggle in tight with his arm around my shoulder. I don't lie on my back, so I'm turned in to him while I'm on my side. I rig...

Re: OT - trying to quit smoking
You've heard the old saying "I am one puff away from a pack a day". I've known several people who, after having been smoke free for 10 or 15 years, pick up one and whammo -- they are hooked again. *raises hand* That's me. Started smoking when I was about 13 (1980). Smoked 1-2 packs a day until I qu...

Re: Snoring! Did you develop avoidance strategies? (Long post)
< SNIP> "Honey, I sleep on my side or stomach, the only way you can snore is sleeping on your back" Of course the sleep study proved otherwise. ...An hour later i was in the ER getting morphine shots while i passed a kidney stone. Same here. My results were 100% side sleeping. Amzed the doctor and ...

Re: Snoring! Did you develop avoidance strategies? (Long post)
I loved reading your post because it reminded me of well, me! I had avoidance issue but not because of snoring. Mine were from heavy fatigue! I would feel so tired all the time that I became a homebody! Truth is I like going out to do things but I always was sooo tired I didn't want to. My parents ...

Re: Beyond CPAP
<SNIP> I think you'll hear all kinds of advice here as to how to attack your problem, but I am of the belief that NOTHING will help you as much as a serious, committed walking program. Good luck. I just started a walking program last week and I am hoping it has as positive results as yours! I'm loo...

Snoring! Did you develop avoidance strategies? (Long post)
Disclaimer: Many of us know that not everyone who snores has sleep apnea, and not everyone who has sleep apnea snores. It seems to be a theme for this forum that everyone likes to share their experiences. Perhaps it's just for the therapeutic benefits of getting it off one's mind. I've been known to...
