Re: Humidifier chambers to empty or not to empty
Should we use distilled water to wash the tanks?
I have to empty mine on Mondays to travel and it gets empty again on Wednesday when I head home and I wash it Saturday Morning. My dme told me to use a little dish soap and hot water to clean it. Is this ok or should we use something else?

Re: Who do you wear it for?
I wear it for my family and all those around me. My husband has 6 mostly older kids and I have 10 and 12 yr old girls, so between us there are 8 children and now I have 7 grandchildren. I want to be around to watch all of them grow up and have families of their own. And with 13, 12 and 10 yr old gir...

Re: Finally! 3 good nights of sleep but still exhausted?
I'm with you jen- the last 4 mornings I have felt like a freight train continuously ran over my body during the night but my brain is blissfully alert. Patience is hard, but I can see the points here. We don't know how much trauma extended sleep deprivation causes and it does take time to heal. We d...

Finally! 3 good nights of sleep but still exhausted?
After my issues last week my mask I called my DME bright and early on Friday to get a new one. I was going to beg for the Aloha as my wonderful hubby had told me he didn't care what mask I got as long as I was happy and sleeping. He said I could have a gold plated one as long as it worked- apparentl...

Re: I am ashamed of my cpap?
I've only been on mine a little over a week but I made the decision not to be embarrassed about it. I let myself be so embarrassed for a long time that I might have apnea that I refused to get tested. Now that I have the machine I show it to everyone. Anyone who comes into my house has seen it, I le...

Re: Aloha vs Opus 360 Mask?
For those of you that have used both the 360 and now the Aloha- how different is the fit for the nose? After a week on the 360 and i've loosened it almost as much as I can and not have it fall off. The edge of my nostrils are still raw, bleeding and sore. I spend at least an hour after I lay down at...

Question on the S9 Elite
My DME did a crummy job of explaining the machine to me, or I was just too sleepy to care. How can I tell if the blasted machine is on? Should the light be blue or green? Mine always seems like it's blowing from the time I plug it in and several times I've woken up at night and I swear the machine i...

Re: Newbie to CPAP, having a hard time coping
Thanks for all the advice, I do think my mask is too tight. I know I've been scared about it falling off so I probably have it way too tight. Also appreciate the advice on lanolin, I wasn't sure what I could use with the mask that wouldn't hurt the material. The bottom of my poor nose is so raw, I f...
