Re: CPAP worked at sleep study but FAILing at home!

First, you need to include more detail on your equipment and mask that you are using so others can provide better responses. For instance, you have the Respironics system 1, but is it the system 60 (p560) or an earlier model Humidifier ? etc. I was not getting good results when I started either. Acu...

Re: Quattro FX Leaking

I want to suggest that a mask liner may be the solution to your problem. I'm a newbie (just went over the 30 day compliance mark), and use a Quatro FX full-face mask without the forehead pad. I was very dilligent about using the CPAP machine (Resmed System 1 - series 60), but for the first 21 days m...

Re: Replacement for Quatro FX FFM - Suggestions?

To GreatUncleBill: To whom are you directing your comment? As you should note, I've only used the Quatro FX full face mask. Without a mask liner, it was not doing the job (my AHI with CPAP was frequently higher then my sleep study without CPAP ). My AHI went from 11.6 without the liner to 0.9 with t...

Re: Replacement for Quatro FX FFM - Suggestions?

Tried using mask liner (PAD-A-CHEEK) last night. Thank You Thank You

For the first night in years, I slept through the night without waking once. My AHI went from 12.4 to O.9 in one day.

I would have sent PM but couldn't so hope you read this.

Thanks again,

Re: REMstar 60 auto review somebody ?

The new 60 series does show daily AHI figures - BUT the DME has to turn it on. For some unknown (well not understandable) reason, they seem reluctant to do that. It seems to be a big secret. My DME wasn't exactly thrilled when I told her I was able to read the data from the SD card. I'm using Encore...

Re: Replacement for Quatro FX FFM - Suggestions?

Thanks to both of you, I'm using Encore Basic 2.0 for reporting from the SD card. Replacement for Quatro FX FFM - Suggestions?

I've been on auto CPAP since May 3rd (17 days over 4hrs). Initially, the mask is fine and I go to sleep right away. Very frequently , the mask springs a leak strong enough to wake me up in order to fix it, sometimes blowing out the cushion entirely. (I chose FFM because of allergies which often bloc...

AHI Numbers at beginning ?

I just started APAP therapy 2 weeks ago (13 nights over 4 hours usually 7 to 8 hours) and have been monitoring my AHI using EncoreBasic software. (RI System 1 Auto with A-FLEX 60 series and heated humidifier with heated tube). In my initial sleep study without CPAP, I was diagnosed with moderate sle...

ResScan software no longer available?

I see that ResScan software is no longer being offered for sale. How come? I would think that the DME and doctors would want their customers to be actively monitoring their own progress. I understand that the ResMed S9 provides a lot of information to the user via their led screen. But does it repor...

Re: Newbie: How do you know if DME is good

Thanks all - I feel better but will continue to be nervous until I see how things work out over time. Guess there are no guarantees in this life (As I like to say, "It's not paranoia if THEY really are out to get you"

Re: Newbie: How do you know if DME is good

Thanks for your suggestions, I appreciate any and all hints. I followed your suggestions, had my doctor's office fax me the material they sent to Bay State and then called Bay State to see if they carried the Resmed S9 Autoset with heated humidifier (they do), and checked on their mask return/swap p...

Newbie: How do you know if DME is good

I got a list of 5 DME's from my Sleep Dr. (whom I only met once when setting up the sleep study), none of which are particulary close to me. How do I find out how reliable they are in meeting my needs? The results of the sleep study was moderate obstructive sleep apnea which responded well to cpap t...
