Re: tooth extractions and CPAP

I just had my last two wisdom teeth taken out. Had no problems, didn't need any of the prescibed pain medication or even a Tylenol. I did have some tenderness and swelling so I skipped the CPAP for that night, and slept lousy as a result. Went back to it the next day, with no problems. I should ment...

Re: OT, flu, what do doctors do for flu patients?

Mr Feline and I are both those types who will catch, well, something, from flu shots, so we concentrate on prevention and management. At the first flu-like symptoms, I start taking garlic and vitamin C, drinking as much clear liquid as possible, and most importantly, using a nasal irrigation system ...

Re: Frequent trips to the bathroom at night, ends with CPAP?

The calcium was originally mandated for me for another reason, but I had heard somewhere that it was good for leg cramps. In any case, it works for me, and we are in favor of whatever works, right?

Re: Frequent trips to the bathroom at night, ends with CPAP?

Alas, neither CPAP nor stretching seems to help my cramps, which I mostly get in my feet, although last night's performance was in both calves. Calcium, and in extremis, a hot shower does work. Prevention is better, which means taking the blasted calcium before bed (which I did not do), and keeping ...

Re: How compliant are you with cleaning the machine?

Every day, wash the mask in water and a little dishwashing liquid and air dry. Rinse the hose out, hang to dry. I also use Padacheeks mask liners and like a clean fresh one every day, so that gets washed, too, either by hand or thrown in the machine with other delicates. Also rinse out the water tan...

Re: Frequent trips to the bathroom at night, ends with CPAP?

Before CPAP, full awakenings would frequently lead to bathroom visit, usually once a night. With CPAP, this is rare, usually something else is what woke me up (leg cramp, loud noise, cats, etc), not the urge to go, and even then I go back to sleep much quicker. Just had a doozy of a leg cramp last n...

Re: A Poll -- How compliant are you?

I've been on CPAP since early March, and have missed 2 nights. Regretted it both times. I will nap for a while without masking, but will usually wake up shortly, either because I am snoring or because my husband is waking me up because I am snoring . My doctor seems to be pleased with my "compliance...
