Re: Soap or not want all the answers I can get please.
How much of the Dr. Bronner's should I use in a kitchen sink size plastic tub? I bought a bottle of Dr. Bronner's Baby Unscented soap, but I think the lack of suds has me using more than I need to.

Re: Rotating between Nasal Pillows and Nasal Mask
Thanks everybody. Nice to hear people do switch between masks. Pugsy - I actually wear the mask a lot looser than when I started. I talked to a friend on CPAP and he took a 5-day break to let his nose heal. Maybe the Polar Vortex with the long period of cold/dry air caused extra problems here in the...

Rotating between Nasal Pillows and Nasal Mask
I've been using the Swift FX for 2 years. I didn't have any problems until a few months ago. The edges of my nostrils started getting very sore and sometimes crusty. I'd have to not wear the mask for 1 or 2 days a week to let them heal. I thought it might be a good idea to get a nasal mask to wear i...

Re: How often to replace supplies
Thanks for the advice everybody. I couldn't imagine things needed to be changed as often as suggested. I have a low co-pay so will probably build up a few of everything. My local DME rep told me not to worry about telling the main office I didn't need supplies when they called. Not too close to Medi...

How often to replace supplies
I just hit the 3 month point with my S9. My DME says to replace filters and nasal pillows every 2 weeks and the ClimateLine heated tube and the Swift FX tube every 3 months. They sent me 6 filters and pillows and both new tubes. I can see maybe changing the filters every 2 weeks but do the pillows n...

Re: Get my equipment in the morning *1st Night Data Added*
Thanks for the info pugsy. Glad to hear everything looks good for a first night. I'm sure it will take a little while to get used to warning the mask and managing the tube. Being able to ask questions here and read responses to others questions makes things much easier. Thanks for the welcome portie...

Re: Get my equipment in the morning *1st Night Data Added*
Thanks Jen4700. First night is over. Went to bed at about midnight. Felt like I was awake most of the night making sure the tube was where it should be and thinking I was feeling leaks. I think most of them were just feeling the air from the vent. The Swift FX was fairly comfortable. Tip of my nose ...

Re: Get my equipment in the morning
Thanks for the advice everyone. The DME has the 30 day exchange policy so I can try several if I need to. I used the Swift FX at my sleep study and the tech said I didn't have a problem with mouth breathing/leaks. I am a side sleeper mainly so the less mask the better probably, but I do have allergy...

Get my equipment in the morning *1st Night Data Added*
I finally got my appointment to pick-up my CPAP equipment in the morning. This site was a big help in preparing and knowing what to ask. I read about people getting low end machines so the DMEs make more profit. I had a list of things I wanted and was ready to fight for them if I needed to. It sound...

Re: Just joined the club
Thanks for the tip Slartybartfast. My insurance required me to use a specific DME so I dropped my paperwork off there today. They only have Resmed machines so I will get the S9 Elite with humidifier. I asked about the Opus 360 and Aloha masks and they said they don't have them in stock. Not sure if ...

Re: Just joined the club
Thanks for the welcomes and info. One thing I'm worried about is nasal pillows and allergies. Will the forced air into my nostrils keep me from being blocked or will I wish I had a nose/mouth mask because I'll need to breath through my mouth? I did fine at the sleep study without a Breath Right stri...

Just joined the club
Hello to all. I had my sleep study 2 nights ago. Tech had me test all 3 types of masks and I liked the Swift FX the best but I was worried I wouldn't be able to breath just through my nose all night. The tech had me put the CPAP gear on somewhere through the night and I used it until the end of the ...
