Re: Traveling. Camping.
Yes, I think I will be able to recharge batteries. There are places where I can plug in. And we are considering getting a small, quiet generator. I think since it will be August, I won't need a humidifier. Last time we camped, I didn't use a cpap at all. I now realize my quality of sleep really suff...

Traveling. Camping.
I'm considering switching to a smaller CPAP machine. I like the humidification in my System One machine. But traveling is frustrating. It's too big!
Also, will be tent camping for two weeks this summer. Considering a machine that can run on a battery.
Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks!

And I will add, if you take these drugs when you do not need them you could have serious blood sugar and sodium and potassium problems.

Re: Adrenal Fatigue: Is it dangerous to "try" Hydrocortisol ?
I have Primary Adrenal Insufficiency (AKA Addison's Disease) that was diagnosed by an endocrinologist. It is a very rare and deadly disease without treatment. My adrenal glands were destroyed by my own immune system. Adrenal Fatigue is something that holistic doctors diagnose and is dismissed by mos...

Re: swallowing air
The exhale relief on my machine helped me with this problem. I also had to learn to keep my tongue "plastered" against the back of my mouth! It prevents the air from entering your mouth as it passes from your sinuses into your trachea. I have learned to swallow while keeping my tongue like that. I a...

Re: The "production" of getting ready for bed
I find the Lansinoh lanolin cream is great for my skin. I was worried it might cause acne on my nose, but it has not. I do have to clean my glasses more often, because the lanolin inevitably gets on my glasses. My bedtime routine is still evolving. I recently started using the mask while reading. Th...

Re: Humidifier chambers to empty or not to empty
Wash and air dry every day. I add some vinegar to the soapy water. I don't want to breathe mold or bacteria. I have Addison's Disease and like to avoid illness. I mean a simple bladder infection landed me in intensive care with an adrenal crisis. So I am overly cautious. I include the hose in the wa...

Re: What about one's mattress?
I don't like our tempurpedic mattress. It is too warm! Sweating is not good when you have a piece of silicone strapped to your face! And after the mattress warms up, my "heavy midsection" sinks into the mattress. I don't like it at all. I sleep so much better in hotels! We will be getting a traditio...

Re: Aloha vs Opus 360 Mask?
I've been using the Aloha for a few weeks and have no new leaks. I use Lansinoh every night so maybe that helps. I wash the pillows every day. Still loving the Aloha. I LOVE that I can sleep in any position and the mask adjusts. Sometimes I have to reach up and give it a little shove, but nothing ma...

Re: New Problem
Thanks for the feedback everyone!
My doctor prescribed Flonase. It seems to be helping! That last two nights my sinuses seemed more clear and I had the mask on until morning. This is a big relief! I am getting an ENT referral to see if there is a polyp.

New Problem - Sudden, random stop on exhale
Out of the blue, I have a new problem with breathing at night! It has happened the last two nights. I am breathing fine thru my nose, in, out, in, out, in, THUNK! I can't breathe out! It is like a trap door slams closed in my nose. I breathe in with a sniff and then I am fine for a few breaths. And ...

Try Lansinoh Lanolin. You get it in the baby aisle. Nursing mothers use it. It won't harm your mask and is safe. I use it with my Aloha mask and never have any irritation.

Re: Any tips/tricks for stomach sleeping?
I agree that the Aloha is good for stomach sleeping (head turned to side). I find that the air vents do blow on the mattress but it does not prevent the airflow. The beauty of the Aloha is very little face marks on waking and it truly does flex when you lay on your side or stomach. Others tend to be...

Doesn't everyone wash the pillows daily? I wash the humidifier tank daily as well.jimnsc wrote: In the post above I didn't quite understand why one would remove the prongs from the pillows every day unless they are washed daily.

Re: Aloha vs Opus 360 Mask?
Stomach sleeping... The Aloha is pretty good! With my head to the side, the vents do blow on the mattress a bit but are fully venting. So no CO2 concerns. Side sleeping... Also good! No hose concerns. Both... The key is the plastic "prongs" that attach the pillows to the headgear. They flex and do n...
