I think I broke my Airsense 11
Somehow pulled too hard on the hose and the machine and it fell off a footstand I had it sitting on. Now when I plug it in I get a green light but my screen is dark and the machine won’t do anything. Does it sound like I did it in, or is there some magical reset I don’t know about? Thx!

Using CPAP with tongue cancer?
Hi folks. I have been recently diagnosed with cancer of the base of the tongue, oh joy. Going to start radiation and chemo in about two weeks, woo hoo! You can sense my enthusiasm. Anyway, one aspect of radiation therapy to this area is that my mouth is gonna get pretty wrecked. Loss of swallowing a...

Please explain this about rainout
So I have had pretty bad rainout the last few nights, even with adjusting my humidity level and increasing my tube temperature. But here’s the thing: everybody and their dog talks about condensation forming in the tube, that’s why we all run out and buy nice heated hoses. But when I pulled out my wa...

Re: Bad bad sore throat, any ideas?
I have had reflux in the past. But recently I have started taking better care of myself, and avoid what I think to be triggers like chocolate and especially carbonated beverages. The weird thing about this sore throat is that its intensity varies even within the day. This morning on a scale from one...

Bad bad sore throat, any ideas?
Hi everyone. I have periodically had this terrible sore throat pain mostly when I swallow, and said pain migrates up to my ear. I went to my ENT a few months ago and she could find nothing, and she even had me do a full MRI to rule our super bad things. It was very painful too, and it's back but not...

Early morning rainout blues
Up at 3:50 due to popping sounds caused by rainout. Arrgh. But I had a couple of questions/thoughts, wanted to get your feedback. 1) I've got my machine nearly on the floor, so I do have a nice vertical bend to my heated hose which also has a flannel cover on it. So I did that. I kinda decided this ...

Heated hose temp on a warm night?
Starting to warm up in the bedroom these days, temperature-wise I mean :o I only have the Resmed heated tubing, I am curious as to how low people crank down the tube temperature on a warm night. I suppose the humidity level might factor in as well? Should I turn it off completely? I am only asking a...

F20 Quietair elbow question, help!
Hi everyone. I have recently switch over from the Simplus to the Resmed F20 Airtouch FFM, which includes their QuietAir Elbow. As has been noted elsewhere, it is freakishly quiet, a real marvel of engineering. However, after about 2 weeks of using it, I can see what appears to be tiny white strands ...

Re: Any consensus on best FFM mask?
I have *loved* the Simplus, but it's just having issues these days. LSAT, does what I am describing as to the lateral play between the cushion and the frame something you have experienced yourself, or am I just going mad? The frame and the cushion are supposed to fit tightly enough to seal off their...

Any consensus on best FFM mask?
Yeah, it's a silly question. It's like asking about your favorite Ben and Jerry's ice cream flavor (it's Cherry Garcia). I am about to give up on my Simplus due to ongoing leak problems due to what I consider poor manufacturing quality (too much lateral play between the cushion and the frame, which ...

Simplus/generic headgear for XL noggins?
My wife says I have a coconut head just like Charlie Brown. She's such a joker, my wife :P . I am using the F&P Simplus headgear size M/L, because as far as I can tell there is no L/XL size. As such it does not fit as well as I would like it to. Has anyone run across this problem? Although it's just...

Re: Yet another humidity/condensation question
Thanks for all the good advice as usual! I will play around with the hose temp (maybe too low) and keep the humidifier setting at 4 for now, we'll see what happens. Can't do much about the room temp, it gets down to about a brutal 40 degrees here at night in Santa Barbara  and wifey likes a...

Yet another humidity/condensation question
While posting my own thread the other day I noticed another one talking about humidifier settings, condensation, etc., but now I can't find it so here is a new thread. I think it was Pugsy (not sure) who talked about condensation and having his/her humidifier setting up about 6 (?) and the tube temp...

Re: Question for Simplus FFM users
Thanks again for all the good advice. Last night I went through my cushions and tossed the ones that don't fit properly. 2 out of 6 I think it was. A manufacturing defect as far as I can tell, I looked at the F&P Healthcare website with the idea of hooting at them, and I did not even see any contact...

Re: Question for Simplus FFM users
Thanks LSAT. I have been blessed with good insurance so I generally get all my CPAP parts on a set schedule (and pay for them of course). I will try your advice about keeping my (good) cushion(s) longer. I do believe they lose their shape after a while and *should* be replaced, but I am probably rep...
