Re: Noisy Go GoLife for Men?

... I had not ever seen a Go Life until a couple of weeks ago and my first thought was I was missing the covers then I realized it didn't come with any. ... I wish I had the same thoughts when the tech at my CPAP supplier handed it to me. It's my first nasal mask, so I had no clue. I got 2 sets of ...

Re: Noisy Go GoLife for Men?

Been using PAD A CHEEK for 2 nights now. Works great. I take the headgear off and there are no marks. It looks as if I don't use CPAP . They help hold the headgear on, are very comfortable and don't hold heat. So they don't make my face hot. Phillips should have had this as part of their headgear st...

Re: Noisy Go GoLife for Men?

My only gripe is that the mask does leave some impression marks on my face for about the first 20-30 minutes after use. http://www.padacheek.com/PACGoLife.html Those plastic cheek things would leave a mark on just about anyone. If it is too much of an annoyance you could get the side piece covers f...

Re: Noisy Go GoLife for Men?

Phillips has discontinued the GoLife v1 , which is likely the one being talked about. It had blue straps. And it did have known sound issues, beyond what would normally be expected from a CPAP mask. They have introduced GoLife v2 , which is the next generation of the GoLife line. It has burgundy/red...

Re: Oral appliance user -- should i go to cpap??

Ive been wearing a SnoreRX OTC anti-snore oral device for three hours a day now. And notice no changes to my bite, yet. If that happens, I will be seriously pissed. That being said, I have found the thing is very uncomfortable to wear, makes me salivate like a rabied dog and when I take it out my g...

(Forgot to log in before the earlier reply.) ... You are relying on the popular myth that MADs will not treat any severe cases. It is a myth. ... With all due respect, I rely on the advice of medical professionals who treat sleep disorders as their field of practice. Your personal views hold no wei...

Re: Oral appliance user -- should i go to cpap??

As I said earlier, don't trust us forum talking heads, go see a doctor. One qualified to deal with sleep disorders, not one who spends most of their day filling cavities. And see what they have to say for your specific situation. It's about your life and health, so don't cut corners . I'm very glad ...

Re: Oral appliance user -- should i go to cpap??

Just something for reference's sake, but as I've mentioned, a doctor is the best means to get the answer of what would be best for you. "A randomized crossover study of an oral appliance vs nasal-continuous positive airway pressure in the treatment of mild-moderate obstructive sleep apnea." http://w...

Re: Oral appliance user -- should i go to cpap??

I have read in this forum and many other places on the internet that the failure rate for CPAP is over 50% and that this does not even count the people who won't try because they think they could not wear a mask. As was mentioned, that is the rate of people who continue using CPAP therapy, not a me...

Re: Oral appliance user -- should i go to cpap??

I found all an oral appliance did was mess up my bite PERMANENTLY while not fully fixing the problem. And 1/2 a problem is still a problem. CPAP solved my problem. When I started on an oral appliance, I thought the only option was it or surgery. I wish I had visited a sleep doctor sooner, had a slee...

Re: Respironics Premium Chin strap

I got this chin strap in just yesterday and used it for the first time last night. I had the same issue with it that I had with the Pap Cap. The chin strap weakens during the night, so it starts out holding things tight and some hours later it's loose enough for my jaw to drop downward. I did not ha...

Re: Chin strap woes. PapCap questions.

I used the PapCap for the past 2 months. It is comfortable, but so "comfortable" I wondered about how it seems to loosen during the night. Well, I just had a visit to the sleep doctor's office to review how I'm doing on CPAP and they found evidence of leaking and snoring. I know my review was much b...

Re: dry mouth with full face mask

So it just so happens to be time for my 3 month mask renewal. Since I originally got the full face mask because the sleep tech recommended it, although I never open my mouth when sleeping, I picked up a nasal mask yesterday. I got the TrueBlue Gel Nasal mask & headgear . I'm sorry for folks who can'...

Re: dry mouth with full face mask

... You should try Biotene gel . Somewhere in the forum is a nice post that taught me how to use it. It is very helpful (but not a perfect solution). I put it between my gums and teeth before masking up. It helps for quite a few hours and there is some still remaining at wake up time. Also be sure ...

Re: dry mouth with full face mask

Tried no heat last night, not fun. Woke up with a cool dry mouth instead of a warm dry mouth. Tongue firmly stuck to the roof of my mouth like always, lips sealed (sealed, not chapped) from dryness because my mouth remained closed while sleeping. The tongue and lips situation is usual for me, but it...
