Re: Dehumidifier water
Definitely a "no" after I just scrubbed and bleached the buckets from our dehumidifiers because they had a not-so lovely slime growing in them. Ack!!

Thank you.
I see it now, there in the Glossary under: Apnea, Hypopnea, Hypopnea Index.

Easy Sleepy Head Question
I'm only asking because I can't find the answer when I search but I'm pretty sure I've read about it before. In SH, how long does an apnea-like event have to last before it is recorded as an OA/CA/ect? I have a whole bunch that last 7-8 seconds that don't get recorded but the ones that are 10+ secon...

Re: Bedside furniture and CPAP machines
Target has two-cube units that my machine sits on. Extra supplies go in the not- supplied canvas drawer cubes.

Re: Me, Him, and It
I can only add "support and encouragement" and lots of it. You two are not only bonded by marriage but by a mutual respect for each others health. If you broke your leg would he help you shower and dress? If either of you developed diabetes, would the other one turn a blind eye and not support this ...

Re: APAPs -- are they becoming standard prescriptions from Docs?
I had to request my APAP because the sleep doc prescribed a straight CPAP pressure. I'm a mover and a shaker when I sleep, never staying in the same place for more than hour or two. The DME sent me a brick and I sent it back. She refused to give me an APAP citing insurance and auditing issues. My in...

Re: Problems getting supplies when needed
Speaking from my own experience as an allied health professional, when you call or walk into your DME, ask to speak with the respiratory therapist. Unfortunately, many companies will hire a receptionist and hope to cross train them in the duties of an RT. It's all about money saving/making. The actu...

Re: OT...A new owner for Lincare
I did get a call from them yesterday afternoon asking how my cpap was going. I consider that very good follow-up.chunkyfrog wrote:Are they still allowed to use the word "care" in their name?

Yes, that is the same S9 Autoset. Here are some links that I have referred to in the past. https://www.cpap.com/DisplayNewsletter/ResMed-S9-Machine-Line-Features http://www.resmed.com/us/assets/documents/product/s9_autoset/accessories_guide/1014082r2_s9-and-h5i_accessories-guide_amer_eng.pdf http://...

Re: Features I want in my first machine
Your list looks good so far.
As for machines, the first two that come to mind are:
1) ResMed S9 Autoset with Hi5 Humidifier and ClimateLine hose; or
2) PR System One REMStar 60 Auto with 60 Series Heated Tube Humidifier and Integrated Heated Tube
