Re: pulse oximeters
CMS 50D+ : I just got this on the advice from everybody in this forum. It's only $70ish and its got overnight recording capability. Everyday I wake up...sync my SD card with sleepyhead...then upload my oximeter data into SPO2 review and see how the night went. It's pretty simple.

Re: Sleep Apnea? You make the call!
I also am not overweight, don't snore, and have acid reflux (probably gerd...never got diagnosed)...and I'm young. I can remember dreaming of kicking in my sleep and waking up from feeling like I jerked in my sleep. Also sleepy but didn't realize I was sleep deprived at all because how active I was....

Re: what do you weigh
5'4"/111 after gaining 5-6# from 5 months on CPAP. Severe OSA creates a hyper-metabolic state. Now I know why for years, I could eat anything I wanted and weigh so little. Initially, I attributed the low weight to competitive running. Does anyone else have a similar experience? In response to the ab...

Re: Supplemental Oxygen: Two different oximetry Results
Well, I haven't got the chance to pick up my second results. However, I bought an oximeter and measured my own data. I'm not really concerned anymore. My oxygen levels were 95% the majority of time and did not ever go below 90s. They were usually around 95-98. Good news. I guess my only comment is t...

Re: Supplemental Oxygen: Two different oximetry Results
No shortness of breath then. Thanks. I think I'm just going to get the final oximeter test from the doctor on monday and see what it looked like and get my own pulse ox. That way I'll know for sure for the long haul.
I'll let everybody know what those results said then.

Re: Supplemental Oxygen: Two different oximetry Results
Jamiswolf, My aunt has an oximeter for spot checking. The only time I've checked it, it was above 97% or something like that. It was pretty high. I haven't ever really checked it during the day on my own. No shortness of breath (what would that feel like exactly?). In general I breath pretty slow. Q...

Re: Supplemental Oxygen: Two different oximetry Results
Here's my resmed data from the first oximetry test to see how well the cpap was working. Keep in mind, my results for the oximetry showed "excess artifacts" but that I qualified for oxygen. I'm waiting to get my results from the study where I didn't go under 88%. That night I taped the pulse oximete...

Re: Supplemental Oxygen: Two different oximetry Results
jamiswolf Thanks so much for your feedback! To clarify, the 70% desat was before my cpap treatment during my original overnight sleep study. That's when they said I have mild/moderate sleep apnea. I don't have the oximetry data for the last two oximeter studies, but I do have the original sleep stud...

I'm not positive who called. I just know it wasn't the people I got the study with. I think it was the oximetry company.
