Re: Windows 8 screenshot
With Windows 8, to find a program, you can hit the Windows key and then just start typing. So windows key and then typing "snip" will bring up a search list with the Snipping tool at the top. Then just hit enter and it'll launch.

Re: Prescription Help
Mask of choice with headgear and cpap supplies. My doctor wrote mask of choice so they were not going to send the headgear. Maybe someone else has a better idea but don't forget to add the headgear. Thanks, I'll have him write it for this. Unfortunately I don't have a copy of my current one or I wo...

Prescription Help
I went to order a new mask and nasal pillows and I found out my prescription expired. The DME said they would try and get a new one from the sleep doc. I need this stuff before I go out of town next month, and I'm not sure I can get in to my sleep doc quickly. I am seeing my primary care physician a...

Re: One congested nostril. Still attempt nasal pillows?
Personally, I can't do it. I feel like I'm not getting enough air and I inevitably end up mouth breathing. That's if one nostril is completely clogged. If it's just a little stuffed up it can work.

Re: SnuggleHose hose cover, overpriced junk
I do not have a hose cover, I haven't needed one yet. My DME recommended wrapping it in an ace bandage to save some $$. Just something to try if you have one laying around. Won't be as snuggly but she said it would prevent rain out and reduce noise just fine.

Re: my experience with Resmed Liberty (hybrid) so far
This is my mask for when I have nasal congestion that makes me mouth breath with my nasal pillows. I like it because I am already used to nasal pillows and most FFM leak at the bridge of my nose. I tried on a number of masks at my DME and this one worked the best for me. The RT did say that she does...

Re: Sold a refurb s9
That is really unfortunate, I think we have the same DME. I have had nothing but good experiences with them, so to hear that they've been shady to someone else is disheartening. I thought I had found one of the good ones.

Re: Sleeping thru a power outage?
I asked our third party administrator about CPAP "accessories" and was told if the item would only be purchased because one used the CPAP, then it would be covered. Now, a backup battery that had multiple uses would likely be suspect, but things like hose cozies, hose holders, mask wipes, etc. woul...

Re: Obamacare: Cutting Liberals' Hours
That is very unfortunate for those employees. I haven't followed closely on the employer requirements since we already provide health care for our employees, however, I was of the impression that much of those requirements start in 2014. If that's the case, why take such action now? To qualify for ...

Re: Where to buy a CPAP machine
My company is moving to a health savings account next year, with a high deductible. (I am not thrilled about this, as it ends up being a huge paycut for me.) I emailed them and asked about purchasing equipment online, such as nasal pillows, because the price is better. They said that it counts as an...

Re: Sleeping thru a power outage?
I went through a power outage last winter and woke up right away. Does anybody know if FSA money can be used to buy a battery backup for CPAP? I have a bunch set aside for dental work for my hubby, but I'm starting to worry that he won't use it by the end of the year. I'd rather buy CPAP gear than l...

Re: Will DME still get my info w/o SD card?
My machine (Respironics) will store a certain amount of data in it, so if you go a night without the card it'll load it the next time you put the card in. I think it misses some stuff, but it still will be a good amount of data. Yours probably does the same.

Re: insurance won't pay for the sleep test
My insurance would not cover the sleep study until I did a home test. It was set up by my sleep doc and his sleep lab. I just had to go in and pick up the gear and they showed me how to hook it all up, then return it the next day. After that my insurance paid for a split study (the O2 readings didn'...

Re: Love my AMARA FF mask
I went in for a FFM recently. I usually use the Swift FX, but I had bad nasal congestion and couldn't breathe at night. I tried on 5 different FFM, including the AMARA but had a lot of leaks. Maybe I have a small nose bridge, because a lot of them went into my eyes. I asked about hybrids since the n...

Re: wife of a newbie needs machine advice
Definitely read the posts at the top of the page for the newly diagnosed. Especially the ones about dealing with DMEs. It really helps knowing your rights and what to ask for. A lot of people don't get to "choose" their machine, the DME offers them one. Whether or not you take it depends on the rese...
