Re: What is your CPAP pressure?
Titrated at 11.5-12 based on my study done one year ago. I bought an apap in January and started out with it at 8-15. I'm currently set at 9-14 and it often stays between 9-10. I've lost about 15 pounds since then so that might have something to do with it. Who knows? AHI is consistently under 3 and...

Re: Fitbit for sleep monitoring
I've been using a FitBit since July 23rd, 2011 and I love it. I used to have a very basic cpap machine and there were some nights it felt like I didn't have a hose at all. After waking up in the morning I was able to confirm that I did indeed sleep like crap. I now have a better machine but still we...

Re: OT - Eyeglasses
I second zenni. We have been ordering for about 5 years now. My son was only 3.5 when he got his first glasses. I couldn't purchase the extra replacement insurance for as little as I could order new ones from zenni. I love that we can get 3 pairs and usually at least one of those are sunglasses for ...

Re: Travelling with CPAP. Do you use distilled water?
I keep a bottle of water in my travel bag for when I'm on the road. Put what I need in the tank and take my nightly pills with what is left.

Re: How often do you clean your equipment?
I'm bad. I've been on Cpap therapy since April of last year. I started out scrubbing everything once a week. Then it gradually got so that I only cleaned stuff when it was time to refill the humidifier. I don't use heat so that was about every two weeks or so. Since then I've gotten a new machine. I...

Re: Use fine filters!
I started xPap therapy last April on an old hand-me-down machine. I checked the filters every time I cleaned the water tank. The white filter never, ever appeared dirty. In December that machine finally died and I bought a new IntelliPap. In less than 3 weeks of use the machine told me to check the ...

I'm another one that was up 2-3 times nightly. Now if I wake up at all it is rare.

Re: Hi I am new here
I keep my tank filled but never turn the heater on. The few times I have tried to use it I felt like I was drowning. It is funny that you mention the baby powder smell. I've been noticing it the last 3-4 mornings as well and was coming to ask. I'll be waiting for some of the senior members to chime ...

Re: Clinician Locks on xPAPs
Perhaps you would be happier over at the "other" apnea board where the cpap police reside and lowly cpap users aren't considered to be intelligent enough to have an active say in their therapy because we are too stupid to understand it and doctors walk on water and never ever screw up. I bet you wo...

Re: Night 5 with new Intellipap Auto
I was on cpap therapy from early April until mid December when my old machine broke. I know my sleep tech lady was astounded at how well I took to the mask. It was the first one I tried. I also wear a Fitbit and according to that most nights I am asleep within 10 mins so I did shorten the delay to 1...

Night 5 with new Intellipap Auto
So last night was night 5 with the new apap. My sleep study set me at 12 and I've set the machine at 10-14. I have a 20 minute delay time starting at 4cm that can probably be adjusted down to 10 or 15 mins. Any other suggestions or tweaks that you guys would make? Or does everything look good? I don...

Re: Clinician Locks on xPAPs
I don't think most people go in and change setting willy nilly. From what I've read on the boards (I read a LOT before every joining) people are tracking their sleep and making minor adjustments so the sleep they get is even better. They have the results to back up the changes. Think about a diabeti...

Re: New to IntelliPAP AutoAdjust - need HELP
Yeah I couldn't quite swing a new machine, replacement mask (the other one was 8 months old) and software all at the same time. Since I had NO data before I figured I would start with what the site offered and go from there. Now I'm off to tuck myself in and I am looking forward to my first good nig...

Re: New to IntelliPAP AutoAdjust - need HELP
I've bookmarked your info as well Pugsy. When I glanced at it the first time I thought it was just the basic manual they sent. Upon further viewing I see it is the in-depth manual. I feel so much better knowing I'm on the path to some good sleep.
