Re: Not all DME's are bad or just in it for the money
My husband and I have different DMEs and mine has been much more attentive. Most will call and "remind" you at 6 months of what products you are due. My husband's didn't call at all. Mine calls every 3 months to check up on me. As for DMEs and making money, it is one of the few ways to make good mon...

Re: Who's up for more DME Bashing???? I Am!
This should be just like any other doctors prescription. They are not obligated to give you the top line stuff (name brand drugs) when generics are available, but they have to give you what the doctor prescribed unless there is another equal product that is on formulary. It seems like they aren't de...

Re: Can a DME bill under Medicare code 94660??
I am convinced this is why healthcare is so expensive. My husband recently had back surgery and required a walker for use afterwards. The exact walker cost $75 on Amazon.com. The DME billed Blue Cross $269 and insurance allowed $180 for which our 80% is $35. It is totally ridiculous. I'm a physician...

Re: Anyone use REMzzz mask liners?
Just call or email Karen. I asked her if she made the pad a cheek liners for the PR comfortgel blue nasal masks since they didn't have them on the site. She emailed me back promptly and said she did make them and just put a comment on the order page. Mine should arrive on Monday. I too have made lin...

Re: What to order and suggestions re: sensitive skin/rosacea
I have rosacea as well and my face didn't do well with any silicon parts touching it. I use a PR System one Auto CPAP with a comfortgel blue nasal mask. I've tried to find pillows I like, but I just don't tolerate them. I had some issues at first and went to the RemZZZZZ liners. They work GREAT beca...

Re: PAP + Dry Mouth = Gum Problems
I've found that when I use pillows it always feels like my nose is stuffed up even though it isn't and I start breathing through my mouth. I also don't feel like I am "getting enough air" and seem to breath through my mouth. I switched back to nasal mask as well and all is back to normal. I also fel...

Re: Cpap Pillow?
I've really enjoyed my CPAPmax. I typically like thin pillows, but I love this one even with the extra inch of foam in there. I am sleeping great and no neck or back aches in the morning.

Re: Trouble Sleeping Next to Someone Using CPAP
I find it so much easier to sleep next to my husband with his CPAP machine than his horrible snoring. Depending on the mask sometimes you can change the direction of the air vent. I pull the tube on my PR Comfort gel over my head and have it velcroed there. It makes the air vent down and not out. Ma...

Re: Sleeping too much because sleep is so great! Advice?
Nice to actually enjoy sleeping, isn't it? I catch myself sometimes seriously looking forward to "hooking up". It still has that pacifier effect sometimes. But I agree with the others that what you're experiencing will pass in time and you'll settle into a normal pattern. Me too. I LOVE sleeping wi...

Re: A Night in Hospital with CPAP
This thread has been a great reminder to me of what I need to pack for my husbands hospital stay for back surgery in a few weeks. I talked to one of the RTs who works in my end of the hospital and he said their policy was to use the patients since it is set up for them already. He said they would su...

Humidity setting
How do you know when you have the perfect level of humidity? On my PR1 I have kept it on 1 but didn't know if more would be better. My mouth is sometimes a bit dried out in the morning, but my nose is always ok. I have found my nose is very very greasy in the morning and I am starting to get some bl...

Re: Link between GERD and Sleep Apnea
I've always had GERD but since starting CPAP it has been much improved. No more waking up in the middle of the night coughing my brains out.
My sleep doc said the GERD would get better but I didn't believe him. Boy was I wrong

Re: Dueling CPAP - Quick Poll
Thanks for the info on hospitals and CPAP. I talked to one of the RTs at the hospital where I work to make sure they were ok with this. They said they actually prefer it and they would provide the distilled water and make sure everything is cool.
