Re: Item 1: weight gain Item 2: eyeglasses
ITEM 2: I read books before I fall asleep (this is a lifelong habit; I'm in my mid-70s). How do other folks manage to place reading glasses on their cpap masks? Easy. We use masks that fit underneath the nose. Tell us which model mask you use now, and we can make suitable replacement recommendation...

Re: Airsense 10 is 8 years old, keep using it?
The Airsense 10 was recently on sale for $399 at cpap.com ... I was debating buying one just to have as a backup. I didn't, as I think my 8+ year old machine is still working fine. Wonder if I should have. I'm cheap, as my high deductible insurance is crap! I can make you sick. You missed the...

Re: Chinstrap recommendation for ResMed AirFit P30i nasal pillow mask
It might work if you put the cap on first and the P30i over the top of it. If you are a back sleeper, it may not work . The adjustment for head size is on the back of the cap which would leave a lump behind your head if you tightened the cap part. Is this an endorsement or a word of caution against...

Re: diagnosed with sleep apnea, need some advice
My thanks to the rest of you for offering your thoughts. Oh, one thing @janknitz: you might want to be more careful with your assumptions. I'm a him, not a her. Always have been. I don't think that was being assumed, she was simply speaking from her personal experience, from her point-of-view. He m...

Re: diagnosed with sleep apnea, need some advice
That's roughly how I feel about using some machine to breathe for me every night for the rest of my life. The members here are very forgiving. If you change your attitude and need help, the members will give you excellent advice. BTW, CPAP machines do not "breathe for you". They simply splint the a...

Chinstraps usually don't work. Try taping your lips.

Re: Fairly new user wondering what to try next?
1. Don't worry about the CAs. They probably happen when you are awake. In which case, they are harmless. You do NOT have central apnea. 2. Don't worry about the leaks unless they are above 40 lpm for lengthy periods. Are they awakening you? 3. 24 lpm leak might be the "official" standard, but wise P...

Re: Wired (or wireless) remote for Resemed Airsense 10
I plugged it in again, and restarted the unit. The device resumed logging data, appending to the prior session. Same result as if I pressed the OFF button on the unit. I've had the same experience. cutting the power prevents the cooldown from running The purpose of the "cooldown" is to dry condensa...

Maybe I don't understand what you accomplished, but wouldn't it have been simpler and cheap ($11) to buy a remote on/off switch? https://www.lowes.com/pd/PRIME-Prime-Bl ... 1000515527
