Re: Best BiPAP

Thanks for all your help, but there used to be a BiPAP type of machine before bi-levels came around: what do we now call them? But I’m curious: why aren’t you getting this information from your doctor? He's unhelpful (copy correspondence is available). I should like to submit a recent Respironics En...

Best BiPAP....UK member

I am a UK resident looking to buy a new BiPAP machine. Now that Philips have assigned the term to their Bi-level machines, what do we call the former type.
Is there a best BiPAP? Which are capable of delivering Oxygen? Which are capable of a higher inspirational pressure as I need more than 25cm²?

Re: Misdiagnosis: ADHD may really be a Sleep Disorder!

WHO seems to think these ADD/ADHD/Hyperactivity disorders are closely related. http://apps.who.int/classifications/icd10/browse/2010/en#/F90.0 Hyperactivity is difficult to define: used to be called the brain damage disorder. Seems to be roughly how children behave when tired and over tired, also yo...

Dissapointed because the uses and abuses of Dopamine need attention, imo. Seems to me sleep generates Dopamine.

Re: Misdiagnosis: ADHD may really be a Sleep Disorder!

Jahbulon, you seem to be disagreeing with me on a couple of points (which is fine), mainly through unconventional use of terms. Yes, that's right: we agreed about Dopamine & limb movements though, and it's nice when someone does not take disagreement as a personal attack, especially on the Internet...

Re: Misdiagnosis: ADHD may sometimes be a Sleep Disorder

once he falls asleep (on the CPAP) his limb movements stop. I can't tell you what a blessing this is as his bed partner, as well as the lack of snoring. In that case, my guess would be that he didn't have true "periodic limb movements", but rather muscle contractions associated with respiratory eve...

Re: Misdiagnosis: ADHD may sometimes be a Sleep Disorder

There is a high comorbidity of periodic limb movements and ADHD. It's not known why. One theory is that they are both dopamine issues. No one knows. Indeed. Dopamine suppressing (anti-psychotic) drugs precipitate PLMS. There is also high comorbidity of sleep disorders in general: the fact that you ...

Re: Misdiagnosis: ADHD may really be a Sleep Disorder!

One symptom of sleep deprivation is hyperactivity (the symptoms of ADD/ADHD). [ . . . ]. In children, yes. All of us: irritability, inability to pay attention, focusing on the things we like, such as television or playing with the computer, to the exclusion of tasks we need to complete, such as cle...

Re: Advice on Software

I apologise: the problem seems to be that I did not leave the Smart card in the Respironics machine, so it did not have any data. Previously I used a ResMed S8 which tells one to remove the card after 30 seconds or so.

Learn something new every day I suppose.

Re: Advice on Software

Thanks for your efforts I have not tried erasing the SmartCard, yet, and will need a URL. What does one do with a pencil? I have a second smart card on order.

Re: Advice on Software

Thanks for your message.

The Infineer USB card reader is the one I have.

EncorePro 2 Version 2.11 (64-bit Windows) says it does not work with M series.

EncorePro 1.8 will not install.
