6 Months: Results, Musings, and Questions

Started CPAP in early January. My pressure setting was diagnosed to be 20. I weighed at the time 350 lbs. Initially after getting used to cpap my AHI came down to 2-3 every night on average. Now fast forward to July. I weigh 290 lbs and have recently started having issues with cpap. Before I would a...

Dry mouth with a FFM

I think the biggest issue i have is my mouth opening in my ffm and my subsequent awakening with a bone dry mouth. Is lip taping my only hope here?

Re: Data Card

Because the used space size on the card never changes significantly. It's always 600-700K when I plug the card in. This makes sense if the card is being wiped then reloaded with new data every night. Also when I put the card in the cpap it says new SD card detected and has a little elipsis that cons...

Data Card

I think my machine wipes and reformatts my data card every time I put it back in the machine! This means I wont be able to PROVE compliance when I go for my follow up.

Vivid Dreams

I haven't had many dreams since I was a child. Now ever since starting CPAP I am having more dreams than I can ever remember having before. I usually only have maybe 1 dream per week that I remember. Now I am having 4-5 a night. And they are very vivid as well. Does this have anything to do with CPA...

Re: Just started CPAP

I would suggest talking to someone about 1. the clear airway events which are too high 2. the fact that 20 cm of pressure is difficult to exhale against and bipap would make it easier. CFlex won't give near the exhale relief you could get on a BiLevel machine and if you had zero centrals in any of ...

Re: Just started CPAP

I dont have any copies and wont be able to get any for a few days because of the holiday weekend. But I think I may know what the cause is here. While reading about the Clear Airway apneas I found a paper by philips that discussed their algorythm. They said that when you stop breathing they ramp the...

Re: Just started CPAP

I am using a pressure of 20. My mask is rated to have a leak rate of 50 at that pressure and sleepyhead says that the 95th percentile is 53. So unless im way off the mark I think leak rate is in check. My AHI for last night breaks down thusly... Total: 15.90 Hypopnea: 3.77 Obstructive: 1.69 Clear ai...

The 7 day average probably reflects only 2 nights.

Just started CPAP

I have just completed my second night of cpap. So far so good, i do feel more rested. Having some trouble with my Resmed full face mask. To keep leaks from happening I have to strap it down so hard that it gives me a headache. My real question though is that when browsing the menu on the cpap, it sa...
