Re: Last time you've seen any sleep professional? (poll)
Sounds fishy. Our DME companies in the area already have an insurance list printed for pts that they receive in their packets for CPAP set up. This is standard here. Most insurance companies do follow Medicare guidelines, so that list is pretty much standard. Sounds like you are getting the run-arou...

@Kira, congrats on being cancer free!! Many prayers with you on that journey!! We have 2 major hospitals in my town, and 2 sleep clinics. We have always had a sleep specialist at each sleep clinic. I've heard too many st...

Re: Sleep Study
There's no stage 4 sleep anymore! Sorry, just a pet peeve that techs still use that! I disagree with this tech tho! I have alot of patients that still enter stage 3 and rem sleep, even with sleep apnea! Maybe the water is just different at that lab! Ha! Realistically, we only need 2 hours of you sle...

Re: Do I need a Sleep Study?
There are in home studies. Many DME companies will provide you (free of charge) an over night pulse ox test. You wear it at home, and it just goes over your finger to monitor blood oxygen desaturations, often caused by sleep apnea. We have alot of patients that use Apnea link. That is sort of a scre...
