Perfect AHI - poor sleep - opinions please!

It's been a (very long) while since I have posted.... I was diagnosed with OSA in 2011, and after not having got on with an APAP, I purchased an S9 VPAP machine. Ahhhhhh, bliss, good sleep for the most part. In a post I made in 2012, I outlined how my then-new VPAP was working: http://www.cpaptalk.c...

Re: YIPEE! My first AHI = 0.00 night!

I also use the Swift FX, and in the beginning, I had mouth-leak issues. It was always OK for most of the night, but every so often there would be a big leak which probably disturbed me and/or an event took place. I solved this by using the simple ResMed chinstrap, and I also tape my mouth with 3M mi...

Re: What is a good AHI number?

I've been on CPAP therapy since last November, and bilevel since the beginning of March. It's been up and down getting my therapy right, I now achieve AHI of 0.15-0.3 almost every night, last two nights in a row have been 0.0. I had a cold last week and AHI went up to 0.85. But I still sometimes fee...

Re: What's Jedimark up to?

James1, This is absolutely brilliant ! Thank you! No problem Nate! Have just had a look through my data to see if there are any nights where I had two sessions. I can't find any, sorry. But gut feel is that if, as I have, the first session is the wrong one, then it would be the first, third, fifth ...

Re: What's Jedimark up to?

james1, What does this mean? How do you switch what off to restore normality. Can you please elaborate? Thanks, Nate @Nate - see screen captures below of last night's data: You'll see in the bottom left-hand corner of the first shot where Sleephead lists the sessions that there are two, out of sync...

For me, I get duplicated sessions out of sync by an hour, with sleep time doubled.

However, switching the "incorrect" session off restores normality.

Re: Question to S9 VPAP Auto users

In European machines there is no possibility of running it in fixed bipap mode Are you sure that's the case Catherine? Not saying it isn't the case - it seems ResMed's approach can be odd sometimes - the S9 VPAP is not available in the UK *at all* for example. Others will be along shortly I imagine...

Re: list for traveling with CPAP....what have I forgotten?

This might seem obvious, but don't do what I did a few weeks into my therapy and forget your CPAP machine power supply

Even after a short length of time on CPAP, I was wiped out for two days because I wasn't able to use my machine... not a nice feeling!

Re: Shipping CPAP to Europe

Europe is not a country. You have to check with the country she is sending it too. It is medical equipment, which means if you ship it to Canada it has no duty but elsewhere? The friend should do the checking, they live there and should know who to ask. But since it is USED medical equipment and it...

Re: Respironics to ResMed mask - equivalent CPAP pressure?

Well, I thought I would post an update for anyone vaguely interested... ... as I mentioned, the Swift FX fitted superbly straight out of the box. The first's night's AHI was 3.8 on a straight CPAP pressure of 10cm H2O (i.e. no difference in pressure from using the ComfortGel Blue) No leaks! I was fe...

Re: Respironics to ResMed mask - equivalent CPAP pressure?

Thanks nanwilson and Pugsy, noted. I will keep my machine on 10 for the moment (only want to make one change at once). I've just got home and have tried fitting the nasal pillows. Astonishingly, they have fitted perfectly with no hassle whatsoever. I was shaking my head about, and they didn't leak, ...

Respironics to ResMed mask - equivalent CPAP pressure?

All, Apologies if this is a newbie post... I was diagnosed with OSA a couple of months ago and since then it's been a bit of a whirlwind learning curve! I now feel human again (and I recognised I must've had the symptoms 20 years, AHI now about 2ish from 26ish) and I have adapted to CPAP therapy ext...
