Re: I am very worried and need advice
Pugsy, you're right, there are things I could do. I guess the sad but frank truth is that I just don't care very much anymore, and I no longer believe that things will improve much, if any. And I've tried for decades. I am running out of fight.

Re: I am very worried and need advice
David, I appreciate your suggestions, and I have been reading the replies here and thinking about what I can do. It's frustrating, though, to read that I should get a cardio workup, sleep test, explore medications, etc. These things simply aren't options to people without health insurance. They're i...

Re: I am very worried and need advice
Thanks for the replies. I went to an Urgent Care Clinic yesterday and found, at least, that I wasn't having a stroke. I still feel really lousy though. I appreciate the suggestions, and I know I should have another sleep study, etc., but I don't have insurance and can't afford such things and don't ...

Re: I am very worried and need advice
Yes, I know. The available medications are complicated by a condition I have called spasticity -- muscle rigidness -- from a spinal stenosis I had two years ago. SSRIs make spasticity worse. And, as I said, finances are a problem so trying different medications, especially new ones, is a problem. If...

Re: I am very worried and need advice
> Has your AHI under treatment ever been as low as 5? I have no idea. All I have is the one readout of my data card from last February. It said my average AHI was 28.4. I'm seeing a doctor this coming Friday and am supposed to have new results. After the visit last February he raised my pressure to ...

Re: I am very worried and need advice
Yes, I do have depression. I know the standard line these days is that it's treatable, but I've never found it so. I've tried many different medications over the years and many different therapists, and some worked for awhile and then didn't, and things are better for awhile but then aren't, and not...

A full set of blood tests is called for too. There is where things start to get unaffordable -- a full set of blood tests is s...

Re: I am very worried and need advice
Thanks for these replies. I'm sorry, I don't know alot about these machines. I've fixed my profile and it should display correctly now in my signature. My initial sleep test found 131 apneas/hr without a CPAP machine. Nine months later, after using the machine, my average AHI=28 at 14 cm H2O. I'm ha...

I am very worried and need advice
I am very worried right now and need some advice from those here with experience with OSA. I've been using a CPAP machine for about 1.5 years, with limited success. But in the last 2 months (or so) things have really gone downhill. I am sleeping very poorly and feel lousy all the time. And I can't e...
