Using CPAP without fileter cover..uh oh
So, my initial 3 month period ended and i had to send back the modem that was attached to my S9 Elite and send it back. I guess when i took it off, the filter cover with the filter fell but i didn't realize it until this morning (5 days later) when i went to change the filter. My question is, how ba...

Re: I change EPR to 1 and AHI is now 2.0
LSAT, i completely agree with you on the AHI thing. There are mornings i look at my machine and my AHI is 2.0 or lower and i feel OK, but not great. And there are days that my AHI is 5 or 6 and i feel GREAT. Also, I asked for an APAP when i was first diagnosed with sleep apnea and my doctor wouldn't...

Re: compliance concern: pulled mask off in night
My insurance said that i have to be 70% compliant, 21 out of every 30 days. All insurance is different though. I'm almost all compliant. One night i fell asleep on my couch, came to bed, put the mask on and slept JUST under 4 hours. The machine said 4.0 but it rounded up, i needed about 9 more minut...

Re: 42 days--still having EDS
Hi there, i have found when my AHI goes up to 5-7 then its time to change the cushion on my full face mask. I'm 75 nights in or so and the last time my AHI was around 7, i needed the new cushion.

Re: Best day so far
Good to hear, it's all about improvements, especially in how you feel. I have the same machine as you. I'm on a pressure of 12 and my EPR is at 3. It works great for me now. I wake up and it doesn't even feel like it's on now i'm so used to it.
Good luck going forward Tex.

Re: Over two weeks on CPAP and its getting worse
if you dont have cpaptalk.com you will have to suffer with this until 30 days when you have your follow up.
Or, if you're like me, you get no follow up whatsoever. Without this forum, i'd be completely in the dark. good luck going forward man...

New cushion for Quattro FX FF Mask
Had a couple bad(for me) nights on CPAP with a 6.0 and 7.1 AHI and noted that my cushion wasn't sealing as well as it had been. I've only been on CPAP for 50 days or so, and i replaced it last night and my AHI was 1.5 over 7 hours of sleep. My average AHI over these 50 nights or so is 4 and i'm alri...

Go with Sleepyhead. I have both and i found that Rescan doesn't give me nearly as much information as Sleepyhead does.

Re: Horrible experience
Hey man, i completely relate to your experience in the sleep lab. The second night was the WORST sleeping experience of my life. THe first one was uncomfortable but at least i didnt have a mask on. I go into the second sleep lab night for my titration and it started going badly when i was trying mas...

Re: General Feedback for a "Newbie"
Elizabeth, i'm also on a pressure setting of 12 and this isn't too high. My sleep lab techs told me that 10 is the norm and they usually see a range of 8-15 as normal. What kind of machine/mask are you using? YOu can add those to your member info. I still get bloodshot eyes here and there, usually f...

Re: Quattro FX leaks..proper adjustment equals smiles
Thanks for the tips! I tried them out last night and my AHI was at 4. It goes up and down, mostly b/c of leaks i believe. My average is 4.2 so i'm not too worried about it. I let my hair grow and got it cut really short and i had no idea how much of a difference that made with the headgear! Had to r...

Re: just another newbie
Kathy, like you I feel like I'm on my own also. Seems like most health professionals be it doctors, sleep techs, pcps, health insurance only care about compliance with your machine in the early going to see who's going to pay for it. I think it's up to all of us as individuals to learn as much as po...
