Re: PR System One REMstar Pro CPAP Machine with AutoIQ
I reset my Auto IQ machine about 2.5 months ago and want to do it again. However, it won't let me. I go to the clinical settings -> info -> reset data -> hold both buttons for about 5 seconds (get double beep). It reset the therapy and blower hours and averages, but it won't let me change the "Min A...

Re: Flu shot time again
I only take them when I'm required to to keep a contract. I always seem to get sick when I get them, but don't when I don't take them. Besides, I'd prefer to be vaccinated on the CURRENT years' strain not what they think it will be based on last years' strain.

Re: Service Dogs for Sleep Apnea
I missed the first complete post (edited into nothing). However, if I get the gist of it..... the question has been thrown out about using a dog to keep a sleepy person awake while driving. Ummmm..... ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!! All a dog will do is drive you to distraction - literally! Very much the same w...

OK, it's an old one, but I just have to post this one again. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/517EOlJS6ML._SL500_AA300_.jpg Someone needs to make a "women of CPAP" calendar. Supermodels sleeping with CPAP masks and sexy lingerie. You could also have a Chippendale's version. Maybe a hard core v...

Re: Hospital IGNORED my doc's PAP order!!!
OK.... I feel I must come to the defense of my fellow nursing professionals. Unless you are a PACU RN, you don't know the monitoring alarms limits nor the policies which govern patient monitoring. Generally, SpO2 alarms are set with 2 levels (if the monitoring system is capable) - a low level (well ...

WANTED: Bella Loops
I'm currently in-between insurance replacements and have no money to by a mask straight out. If anyone has Swift FX Bella Loops they are willing to give away, it would be greatly appreciated. Background story: I've been using Swift FX for Her since day one and absolutely love it. However, lately (fo...

Re: FILLING PR SYSTEM ONE HUMIDIFIER WATER TANK
I've never had an overflow problem. I fill it from the top straight from the R.O. filtration faucet. When I'm done filling it, I'll tip it toward the air intake port and dump any extra/overflow water. My 9 year old fills it all the time for me without any problems.

Re: OSA and Atrial Fibrillation
Correct. I was likely clinically dead, at least from a cardio stand point. My internal medicine doctor calls me a "Flat Liner", my neurologist is pleased he can speak to me. I knew my heart had stopped or was quivering because I could feel my heart back-filling with blood. Inflating like a balloon,...

Re: OSA and Atrial Fibrillation
Yes, I realize the topic is a-fib. I think some are interchanging it with the v-fib which is totally incorrect. Can a-fib convert to v-fib? Honestly, any rhythm can convert to v-fib given the right circumstances. The clots which form during a-fib can cause heart attacks and strokes. And yes, a-fib c...

Re: OSA and Atrial Fibrillation
A bit off topic, but the nurse in me requires me to say something....... V-Fib is a LETHAL arrhythmia! The heart is doing nothing but quivering and is not circulating blood. The only cure for this arrhythmia is DEFIBRILLATION (electric shocks) and that doesn't even work all the time. If it's not tre...
