Re: Sleep study report
Oh, I know I slept absolutely terribly the night of my study. I normally sleep quite well but did not sleep normally at all.

Re: Sleep study report
Oh, and the sleep tech also said she "wouldn't see me again", so I took that as a good sign, but I guess I am hung up on the 1 episode.

Re: Sleep study report
Okay...I just wasn't sure since it said I had an apnea episode. Though if I recall correctly, many people do, it is just if you have several an hour that you should be worried. I also was curious since it said I only had 47 minutes of REM sleep. I just wanted to make sure that was enough to get a go...

Sleep study report
It will be a few weeks before I meet with my doctor so I was hoping some of you could tell me what these results mean. I am confident that I am in the clear, but just want to be sure. Here are my results: Results: The patient was seen in the sleep lab for evaluation for obstructive sleep apnea. The ...

Re: Sleep Study
Thanks, Pugsy. I actually sleep quite well, usually...I just didn't last night. My study was due to a period of a month where I had excessive, out of nowhere, snoring, which has since went away (tech said it was likely due to allergies of some kind since I didn't snore at all last night and haven't ...

Re: Sleep Study
Thanks for the reply...I hope that is the case. I don't want to have to repeat it but I worry that I did not get enough sleep. Once the doctor reviews my data, will he be able to see if I didn't get enough sleep? Is the data very clear on when you are and when you aren't asleep?

Sleep Study
I had my sleep study last night. I had considered cancelling it because I didn't think it was necessary since all of my symptoms could be explained by something other than a sleep disorder, but I went through with it just to be sure. The tech told me this morning that there was absolutely nothing to...

Re: Nocturnal panic attacks
Thanks for all the responses. I know I won't know anything until I get my sleep study but I am hopeful that the anxiety attacks (if you can call them that) are related to my anxiety as they did not start until after a traumatic experience and I have read a lot about others struggling with anxiety ha...

STOP BANG test
Just curious where most of you fall on the STOP BANG test scoring system (before CPAP therapy if you are being treated). This is supposed to be a good indicator of your risk of OSA. If you answer yes to 3 or more questions, you are "high risk" for sleep apnea. Curious to see where everyone falls. 1....

Re: Nocturnal panic attacks
Oh, and someone mentioned PTSD, which I have also been diagnosed with. I know that can cause panic attacks as well.

Re: Nocturnal panic attacks
I've had full work ups of my heart, so I know there is no issue there. I have panic & anxiety disorders, so while I know that panic attacks can be signs of sleep apnea, I am more likely to peg them to my anxiety disorder since I had never had a single one until I went through a traumatic experience....

Re: Nocturnal panic attacks
I should mention that I experience panic attacks during the day as well, which of course can't be related to sleep patterns. They are worse when my anxiety is not under control but when I am in a very anxious state, I have them during the day and at night.

Re: Nocturnal panic attacks
I'm actually not bothered by the events at all. They happen rarely and I know what it feels like so as quickly as I notice it, I calm right down and I'm fine. They were only brought up because my therapist asked if I was still experiencing my panic attacks and I said that I hadn't had a "real" one i...

Nocturnal panic attacks
I'm awaiting my sleep study but am feeling more & more confident that I may not have sleep apnea. I had a question about night panic attacks. I have anxiety disorder and when I was at my worst, I would wake up in the night with my heart racing and in the midst of a huge panic attack. I know what the...
